It was leaf-fall, the river had been frozen over apart from a few spots around the edge. Snow lay on the ground and not even the sun could warm up the cold air. You are (y/n) and you're a warrior of ThunderClan, you had gone out by yourself to see if you would have any luck in finding some pray for your clanmates. You even walked out on the ice a little bit to see if you could find anything along the reeds on the ThunderClan side of the border.
That went on till you hear a snarl somewhere behind you. Shock you wipped your head around, you (fur color) pelt bushed out. It was then that you saw the dark brown tabby pelt of a RiverClan warrior. You knew him well, as you had talked with him a few times at gatherings. His name was Hawkfrost, no one knew who his father was and no one really asked ether. But this tom is a strong warrior and with your weakened state he could easily beat you.

The tom opened his jaws, but before he could speak a creaking sound was heard. You looked down to your paws and saw the ice underneath you had started to break. Then with a shriek as the ice broke you fell into the cold iciness of the river. Everything seems to happen too fast as the water pulled you down, you tried to fight it but you were growing weaker. Fear grabbed hold of you and you almost didn't notice something grab you by the scruff of your neck. It pulled you along and before you knew it you were back on land, this time on the RiverClan side of the border.

Shivering you looked to your savior. Hawkfrost give a slight snort, but help you to your paws.

"Come on, I'll help you back to your camp." The dark brown tom said, he let you lean on his shoulder as you both walked across the ice. On the way back to camp you both talk a bit, he told you about how hard it was being non-clan born and how his clanmates didn't trust him at first. You told him that it doesn't matter where he was born, he was a brave and strong warrior and his clan was lucky to have him. The two of you became friends fast and you hoped to see him again, though he had gone to see Firestar to tell him what had happened and why he was in ThunderClan territory but not before helping to the medicine cat's den. Cinderpelt and Leafpaw were there and you were told to get some rest and if you started coughing to head right back to the their den.

After words, things went on as normal, though whenever you say Hawkfrost you say a hello to him. Then the great journey happened, that was when you and Hawkfrost got even closer and unknowing to your clanmates the two of you had become mates. This went on till you learned of his death, you still saw him in your dreams in that cold dark forest where there were never any stars. And still there was another secrete you had hidden from your clan, one that you would keep till your last breath.
