Genzo was kind enough to draw me sketches of details i couldnt see on his artwork, his help was essential But since i'm still not satisfied with the outcome of the costume i didn't show him the result yet

no problem, it's just a matter of fact. It's a completely different kind of works from what used to appeal dA users years ago, it's like the community itself has changed along with its audience. You can be either happy with that or not, it's just the truth.

Ok, cosplay is still art, so I don't see what you mean about it being here on DA. It's been on DA for many years. It's all about a variety of interest. That's always been the appeal of DA users.

no it hasn't always been. It was a part of dA users maybe, like sci-fi or goth/dark clubs. Now the manga/anime invasion has almost completely taken over this community. Nothing against it, don't get me wrong, still it's something we have to admit. There was much more commitment and quality over works and many users quitted dA for that. I suppose I figured out why: along with this "art", which I actually don't consider as such but there's no accounting for taste (I mean it), a new audience joined dA and it's mostly made up of teenagers and people who like animes/mangas and don't know art. I'm sure you can notice the difference between real photography or manipulations and just portraing your favourite anime/manga character or dressing up like them and taking pictures of yourself posing. I'm not into cosplay, so I can't judge it. I might misunderstand it too, I can admit that. But I know what dA used to be and I have the right to say that it has changed. You maybe have always been into this kind of works so that is what you have been looking for since you joined (I imagine), so you might haven't noticed this. Yet you can trust me, a cosplay would have rarely earned anybody a DD. AGAIN, I can put up with it, but I can't help saying this isn't the community I joined years back.
