Description "In this state of absorbed contemplation, there is no longer any question of holding an object in view; the vision is such that seeing and seen are one; object and act of vision have become identical."

where did you get the idea for the body of bodhidharma? it's the exact piece from Taiso Yoshitoshi's portrait.

Ah, that wave! I know that wave! Interesting choice.

I like the combination of images and the general concept, very nicely done. I have some advice that may help the wave look less Photoshopped and help it blend in more effectively:

The wave comes in front of his leg appropriately, but I think the crest of the wave should be coming in front of his shoulder, and hanging slightly above his head. For the head, the easy way to make this illussion would be to add a bit of shadow under the wave's peak and on the back of the guy's head.

Also, the right side of the wave ends rather abruptly against that black....area...thing. I think you need to clarify exactly how that wave is coming out of that space. Either make the edge very defined, or have some sort of blend into the darker area.

I also think that more of those curly black lines at the top right and lower left of that dark area would look great if there were more of them along the outside of that dark corved area. Particularly around the apex of the curve in the lower right.

Hope that helps! I lvoe what you've got so far.
