this is very beautiful. look at her face, the expression, this makeup. this makeup makes her look mature, like she's older, but in her inner she is a child, a girl that want's to jump around to play around, and she wants to take her teddy bear, but all her friend are old (look), do things older people do, so she's trying to hide, from what, hiding from this little girls she wants to be, she's ashamed because of that, realy ashamed, she doesn't know what to do, be mature and old, or be childish,

I agree, it does seem a bit sad, and it also looks a bit washed out, like the colors all seem softer than they should be, which adds to the light/melancholy atmosphere of the pic overall...I think it's the fact that there is no true black in the pic, that's probably it too. It's really good, and the positioning is great
