Description
Here's yet another bit of full-size, textless artwork from my illustrated novella, 'Vermilion Crescent'.This one comes from early in the story, where Vermilion quite skillfully defends herself from a pair of bandits from the infamous 'Dusk Blades'. Apparently the duo thought she was an easy target lost in the woods, some wanna-be adventurer who had to pay for inexperience.
They were wrong.
A little work with her mannerisms, body and a few flashes of her blades and legs later and Vermiliion is left with one thug running off in fear and the other stomped safely under her sole, ready to be brought to the authorities for a sizable bounty.
That is, AFTER she's had her fun...which isn't so bad for the fallen Dusk Blade himself either. His expression soon changed after Ver suggested something...dealing with his position...
As always, I did the linework/design here, and my talented friend was responsible for the excellent colors and very cool background in this one. ^^

Yes. Yes I will like it. Very much so. Not only a spectacular view, but a fancifully done background as well. Magnificent work all around.

*grins*
As for that badge/symbol on his shoulder, that's the 'Dusk Blades' symbol: basically a blade surrounded by, ah, 'black fire'.

I would stay down to see a view like that. This is a great picture, the detail within the whole image is wonderful to make it look so real.

It's painted, but digitally. Same rules apply though, using a Cintiq tablet allowed me to use pretty much the same oil/acrylics techniques as I used when I did traditional painting (many, many years ago), just less messy (no paint splattered everywhere and knocked over jars of water).
