(Schmincke Horadam Gouache)

Here is my input for the MayPupa challenge of the ArtChrysalis group.

This is definitive out of my comfort zone.

I don't like to paint landscapes, despite the reference photo for this month challenge was one of my own.

It was clear to me that I will not be able (and definitely not want to try) to paint the waterfall in full detail as in the picture.

So for me an expressive approach to paint it was obviously the way to go.

I also thought about which media to choose.

As I wanted to be able to advance and correct things also from dark to light is was fairly clear to choose Gouache this time.
Also because I'm neiter into Acrylics nor into Oil, so Gouache is pretty much the only painterly medium I have at hand.

Even I not consider it as a complete fail, I still feel kind of defeated by the reference.

But it was definitely worth the try and at the end even fun to create it.

Looking forward what the others will come up with.
