After seeing this, my mouth was left open for hours. Then I couldn't close it because of having it standing stil for too long, not to mention I ate two insects. Oh yea, the critique. I think you already got the point. This is a briliant work of art. Fills me with adrenaline and inspiration. The shadows are very nicely drawn and the lighting perfect. The textures are very nice and fit the scenery, the lighting and the shadows perfectly. Also, the buildings look real, like in a photo. To sum up, I raise my hand and give 'ya a high five.

Everything about this picture is just amazing! It's very difficult for me to find anything to say needs to be worked on in this drawing. The lighting in this picture is one of my favorite things! Everything goes through amazingly well! You can definitely tell that this jaeger can take and give a hit! The helicopters on the top also give an awesome extra detail! The background is just as well done as the jeager itself! The Buildings have an amazing amount of detail to them! The water and clouds are amazing as well! I can't even begin to imagine how much time and effort was put into this piece of amazing artwork! All I can say is to keep up with the amazing work!

wow. just...just wow. This is without a doubt one of the best pieces of art I have ever seen

firstly, the technique used here is impeccable. everything from the gleam of the metal to the spray of the water looks like it could have stepped out of real life The combined use of the low angled shot, cpupled with the buoys and cityscape in the baclground help convey how simply massive it is, and with all the elements this image has an outstanding sense of movement.

the design of the jeager is just as awe-inspiring as the artwork that brings it to life - it looks like it could eaisly crush through any kaiju foolish enough to try and face it, helped immensly by the several stories saw facing towards the viewer. it looks like what an actual millitary mecha might look like if we could ignore the squre/cube law and build one. no-nonses and taking advantage of the frame, but still intricate enough to be incredibly intimidating

so, yeah, not much else to say but this is brilliant.

Great piece! I love the design, especially the chain saw! Why didn't the ones in the movie have one of those? LOL
It's a fantastic illustration, too. The technique and lighting give it a raw, real-world feel without being too dependent on tiny details.
The pose you chose seems vibrant and alive, making one want to get in the cockpit and drive this thing!
I gave you a lower score on originality simply because it's based on a movie and the chainsaw idea, while clever, seems taken from certain video games. (Maybe it isn't, I don't know.)
Still, I love this piece! Great job!

This is a very well done piece, I'm no expert on art but I thought I'd give you my opinion of it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
The sense of scale and power is really obvious, you've almost got a sort of 'comic-book' level of action going on, which makes it very eye catching. My only major critique would be the lack of color and design on some of the buildings in the background. I have never seen Pacific Rim, so if that is an actual screenshot from the movie then no problem. But if it's your own design, might I suggest a different pattern for the building to the far right? The horizontal lines help offset the negative space of the sky, but they also feel a little blunt and dated compared to the awesomeness of the machine.
Cheers,
Chrysoskies.

yes indeed it is my own vision!

I will avous the shape of battiments are given in the form of a brush and I ran out of time for tweaking! So I read the accort with you that building could be more original! in any case thank you for criticism

I could have written a long critique, but today I simply do not have time. So i will list it out

-Beautiful details to the...um..."bot" Very good attention to detail, esp. to the chainsaw and the armour. The cracks on the armour tell a long operation history of this...um..."bot" sorry i hadn't watched the movie yet. Anyway the "bot" itself is close to perfect, bravo.

-the choppers though... They seemed out of place, in term of perspective and angle, the birds too. Why? Cause they seem a little too big compared to the massive robot, giving the impression that they are running head on into the robot's head. Suggestion, minimize the size a little more and perhaps, you could place it over the shoulder of the robot and overlay it over the bot a little (in terms of layers) to give an impression that it's in the forefront, and its small. The birds, I suggest they could be removed...

-Now the water is truly stunning work. The effect and the particles are drawn in a way they look like tsunamis, a result that has been properly achieved. The bouy is right there to demonstrate the effect, very well placed. And the shadow of the chainsaw underwater gave a good sense of depth. Also there is a sense of depth of field in the water effect, very nice. One little detail is missing, the area of the bicep and the chainsaw contacting the water does not have HUGE waves. Without them, the jeager(ok i just noticed you wrote the name up there) would have seem to be stalled there. This is not what the jeager is doing, right?

-The background, namely the buildings surrounding the character and the sky has been rendered beautifully and realistically as if it were plucked from real life.

Colours has been well used, my favourite is the colour of the sea.
In overall the picture has been really well done. Its beautiful piece of work.
