I know very little about this character, but the way you present her gives a very good insight to her personality with her cape, jewelry and use of a musical instrument.
Excluding that her pose and anatomy is as good as you could ask for a pony portrait, I would love to gush over how well you managed shading and lighting on this one. At no point does she ever feel flat or unvibrant, you gave her proper shadows along her body to give her form, while giving her a good flare of different colors (especially in the mane) that add a unique shine to her and is much more appealing to see than a flat purple.
In addition, the lighting of her horn is very well done, especially on how it reflects off her fair face, looking like proper lighting while at the same time avoiding to detract from her natural pigmentation.
Everything else is just about perfect and I honestly can't offer any criticism here. The background is a good pair with her as it avoids a boring white space but doesn't detract attention from the subject.
A very welcomed addition to the contest, and so far, my top pick for number 1.
