Description Oh my Gawd I love this so much. This took a few days to make, but mostly because I was too lazy XD.
I like my buildings for once (even though I could do better)
This is a scene from The dragonriders of pern White Dragon.
Ruth, the runt dragon, is being kinda tested to see whether he can fly his rider, Jaxom. I'm not going to spoil anymore.

I don't like the hands of the dragonXD and F'lar the person is ok, but oh well. I WANTED TO GET THIS DONE!!!!!!

Enjoy

I really love this hehehe.
Took a few days on Gimp

Hmmm....
like you said, Ruth's hands are wrong, and maybe the size, though it's hard to tell while Ruth's in this position. About that, here's a reference to his size from the book and that scene:"Ruth's a full head higher in the shoulder than runner beasts."
I've just checked, and this is the right position in which F'lar examined him ("the white dragon raised himself to his haunches and spread his wings..." - The White Dragon).
And for some reason I dislike the expression on Ruth's face. It looks... sad? Worried? And this was actually what Ruth felt at that moment: "Eyes whirling with excitement...".
I didn't mean to hurt you. I respect anyone who tries his/her's best and can do such a good job on a painting. Just fix some minor mistakes, and it will be great.
Good like!
Cheers!

Thank you for the tips. I hope I'll get the chance to redo this one just 'cause I've improved a lot since then.

Hmmm...okay, if you can re-isolate the dragon and rework the scene and actors, you've got it. Ruth works, but the figure and the outside doesn't. Ruth was tested outside by F'lar...but the pose reminds me of when they checked the wings and wing muscles...

You got the skillz, it just doesn't seem like the novel. Still, it shows you can do it. And I'd be willing to say, take another shot at it, I think you can do it.

Please don't take it as an insult, you've got the form and contour, but...the situation just doesn't seem how I remembered it in the book.

Thank you for your thoughts. I had made this a long time ago and was actually thinking of redrawing it soon, so your comment is quite helpful.

If I remember correctly, Ruth should also have a saddle on too. Thank you!

This is wonderful! I haven't met many people familiar with Anne McCaffery. I used to read her books all the time!

Thank you!
I just found this wonderful series and was so sad to hear that Anne McCaffery passed away.

It is definitely sad But she left behind some wonderful books for us, and her son, Todd, is still writing about the people of Pern.
