Description
Each star is a flashlight dangling from invisible stringUndulating their twinkle against a stark sky of the unknown
Relentlessly accepting their places
I wonβt be that complacent.
I will argue and question everything and everyone
No matter who the person is,
I will do it.
Giants green with envy
Trying to breathe their demanding silence into my lungs
In an attempt to revive the naive child who blindly accepts things
Never will they win!
Never will I give up!
Even after repetitive scorching lashes struggle to bleed the voice out of me
Never will they win and steal my passion and identity!
And streetlights glare at the night, and glare at their creators
For placing them on these cold, desolate streets
But they go on illuminating the mist of soft fallen rain caught in the chatter of the wind
And on this misty night of tension
I will aimlessly wonder the walks with the streetlights as my only friends
With a sense of protection from their unforgiving glare of light
Alone my path will be traveled
And alone, only I will decide where it goes
But even yet, I do not know of the next turn I may take or the next curve that may be thrown at me from the wind and rain
Forces that I cannot, nor will ever be able to control
Just like the forces and tensions that twist in my chest
They push me along the friction filled tracks
To never be satisfied with just knowing the answer, but knowing why.
Why people do the things they do,
Why I do the things that I do,
Why I crave to be a starry flashlight that is never content with just being told, but wanting to know what is in the stark unknown.
