I was really devastated in today's Legend of Korra Episode so I did this speedpaint as a tribute to Lin... I couldn't believe they would take away Lin's bending away... T____TIn my opinion, what made it more heartbreaking for me is because Her Bending is the legacy of her mother, Toph. I was teary eyed and angry at the end of the ep... but I thought, Lin wouldn't be defeated like that, she is one top badass. So I think/hope Korra would find a way to restore a person's ability to bend.
I seriously want to kick amon in the face right now.

Okay. I just watched that episode and I'm a mess. And then I read what you wrote in your description and I'm crying even more. Her bending is, well, was the legacy of her mother. Oh my god. I can't.

I find the title interesting because it says "fall", yet Lin is holding her head up high. This is a fitting tribute to an amazing character.

I don't understand WHY Amon did it! He's all about the equality and had never taken away the bending of someone who didn't deserve it. I was starting to think he was a good guy in disguise. Maybe... just maybe... he didn't really take her bending, just knocked her out. Because we all know Lin was never unfair to the nonbenders, she never wrongfully used her bending like the other Amon victims. But then again... her policemen probably didn't either.

She is a true hero, but even without her bending she's still dangerous to Amon and the equalist's in my eyes. She is Toph's daughter after all. XD And as for her bending, Korra does still have to try to learn airbending. I have a suspicion that the ability to take bending away may also be included in that now since Aang mastered it. So I do forsee her finding a way to reverse the process. Possibly anyway.

I also think so too, If energy Bending can take someone's bending away, I also think that it can also give/restore a person's ability to bend. atleast that's what I think.

To take bending away, Amon touches only the Light Chakra, which deals with insight and illusion. Could be an imperfect version of Aang's energybending, able only to create an illusion in which the victim thinks she can't bend anymore. Remember that Aang touches two Chakras to remove Ozai and Yakone's bending.

She can still teach her children. Yakon didn't have his bending, but he still taught Tarrlok.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just because they lost their bending, doesn't mean tey can't pass it on to their children.
Like you said, Yakone lost his bending, and then when Tarrlok was born, he was able to teach it to him.

In the end, even if Amon takes bending away from one generation, doesn't mean that generation's children won't have bending. It's in the blood. Amon would have to actually kill all the benders to rid the world of bending, forever. A feat that is clearly impossible (I think Amon didn't consider that in his plan at all)

I HATE Amon for taking away her bending
He and Tarrlok are the two fictional villains (or characters at all) I actually hate (though I also hate all the love jerks like Jack Spicer and Tahno receive from fangirls)
I was very happy he took away the bending of both Tahno and Tarrlok, though
