To offer a bit of insight, I can imagine how long this took to animate in general. The fact how smooth this runs just makes me imagine how stressful this got or even just how many frames you had to redraw over and over again. Beautiful as it is, as an animator inspiration, this really gets down to how much grind you had to pull for each frames just to get this smooth. BUt in the end it's honestly worth it because how official it looks. It legitimately looks like an official animation from a production.

I think the only thing that could've been looked into is the arms motions in the beginning, they feel stiff and their motions as the belly inflate is a bit robotic. But knowing you use 3D modeling and then focus on rotoscoping the motion into digital 2D displays that there may be difficulty. But the rest of the motion is really beautiful to be truthful. The expression, the expansion, and the arms do make up from their stiffness when they grab the shirt and cover the belly. That there felt quite realistic in motion in terms of hand movement. You gotta feel proud of this work.
The hair is also another thing I would mention, but hair is a small focus on this so I wouldn't put too much empathize. As well as the body, in animation standing poses arre sometimes paused in motion while other parts are in motion if standing.

Overall, first time of animating this, you really show how much you progress. I do hope this leads to future animation projects or even into what you're passionate for. In my time here, I want to inform animators and artist this, whatever you aim or keep going. Even if it's something not in the norm; if this is for comics, animation or such, keep at it. You're gonna make it there, and I believe you're succeed and grow as an artist~

It was pretty strenuous to animate, I have to admit.Β  It didn't necessarily involve redrawing entire frames, but there were some elements that needed to be corrected and added to in each frame which was rather difficult to keep consistent throughout the whole sequence (you'll notice some inconsistency in the quality or shape of some of the lines in some parts, such as the bottom of her belly and her crotch, or the crease lines on her chest).Β  I'm very glad you think it really looks like an official production animation!Β  Makes me feel better about it, especially since it was the first animation I made with this technique.

I did notice a while after I finished it that the motion of the arms is unnatural while her belly inflates.Β  Though I hadn't quite noticed the stiffness with the beginning part while she's licking, so thank you for pointing that out.Β  I'm very happy that the motion of her covering her belly was very natural looking to you!Β  I was quite pleased that I was able to pull that off myself.Β  I will also look into animating hair and other loose parts like that in the future as well to add secondary motion.

Thank you very much for the feedback and the encouragement!Β  I do look forward to making another animation sometime soon, or even something else involving similar stuff such as a game~

I don't blame yah, animation is a time consuming process, even for most patient people it takes such a long time. ooh, Was it because you used like, cel shade for the model? Thus you didn't need to redraw it, only just fix up linings and such? That seems understandable.
Consistency is usually an important matter but here I don't mind it. It's not super noticeable tbh, the line consistency I recognize but they were only noticeable when you pointed them out XD so that doesn't count. Really what matters more is that the animation itself functions. And you pulled it off really well where it felt believable and realistic.
I also notice you have a liking of Studio Ghibli, no doubt by that one body inflation art you made XD So in a sense I kinda see a bit of Studio Ghibli style in this animation. To which is why I say it feels authentic. You should feel proud in general, making animation like this for the first time is actually a huge step in my eyes. I have yet to really do animation but to me this is truly an outstanding mark on your portfolio.
In fact, I honestly think if you keep at it you can make studio ghibli style belly inflation animation. If that's what you're into. I definitely believe you can do it.

Oh no worries, I'm happy my insight help yah out on that. It's nothing that damages the art, but it is noticable unlike the lining because when your focus is on the expanding belly, the eyes that audiences will seek is the whole reaction too. From the belly to face, and to the entire body in general. Thus when I notice her arms moving awkwardly when inflating, it got a bit distracting. But as I said, the motion where she covered herself up really made it up for it. I think what you could do to keep in mind is that when a character is in a static position the arms should relax downward rather then on an angel with the hands fully straight out. Fingers curl inwards as well as the elbow bending slightly. (But if you want more characteristics, you could also have her hand on hip with elbows bend, but since that takes a bit more to rig around it be a little tedious to get all that fix) Overall those are just something to keep in mind when you're making arm poses. No need to feel bad though, in truth you reallyΒ outdone yourself in general and I am more then pleased to experience yah to grow in the future.
And yes! That hand covering her belly really worked well~ Hair and other loose parts are usually last details so don't feel discourage if you didn't get to them. The key details are on play already so hair movement is only noticable by the very keen eyes lol

Aww well as I said I am open to any artist and I heavily push them to keep on feeling motivated and encourage for any means possible.
Oh? In such a case for a game to happen, would it be a bit much if I could volunteer to help? If such a game was either an RPG, Visual Literature, or even a 3D exploring platform, I would love to help with visual details, coloring and even dialogue boxes with pictures to interact! Heck, i love these trio girls. And I really hope you explore their stories and lore. If you wanna know what I see in these girls, I see them as a unique twist of studio ghibli inspired characters, they are charming and goofy with their cartoonish belly expanding comedy. You can tell beautiful stories with them regardless of them being kink. It doesn't matter what they do, because the truth is the depth of a character makes the art~ And you already provide that with your witty dialogue and antics. Fulfill yourself what you wanna see and people will support you. Because I'm here already to just say that I love it all~

Yes, I used a line rendering engine built into Blender (the 3D program I use) called Freestyle that basically mimics hand drawn line-art.Β  That way, I only needed to tweak some things here and there, though it was still tedious, like anything when it comes to animation of course xD.Β  I'm glad the line inconsistency wasn't that noticeable to you~

I do very much like Studio Ghibli films, yes~Β  They are breathtakingly beautiful, not just because of the raw beauty of the imagery but also the realism behind every little detail.Β  I also appreciate some of the ways that darker elements/commentary are incorporated, even though I'm not really much a fan of dark things in general.Β  It creates a very beautiful feeling, and I would love to see a film of that style that prominently featured body inflation~

Thank you for the tips for correcting such arm motions in the future!Β  I will definitely keep them in mind next time I make an animation~

The game in question is going to be a sort of life-simulation type game that will act as an origin story for Ebony as she struggles with the curse that makes her randomly inflate and disrupt her normal life.Β  I'm afraid I'm not sure what I could specifically have you help with off the top of my head right now, but I very much appreciate the offer to help and will keep it in mind!Β  I much aim to make the game be a tale of a normal girl in a Howl's Moving Castle inspired world who has to deal with blowing up like a balloon and finding a way to not only cope with, but also accept her ballooning body.

Wow, Blender truly is useful. Now if I only had the patience to learn XD Haha, well back on this, you definitely know your blender, and tedious as it seems at least you just need to fix small stuff! and it's convincing how it looks so 2D~ most cel 3D art I see honestly look too MMD and often just don't look like 2D doodles. Either they are just 3D with very highlighted shade or just 3D. You really convince all of us and that's admirable in general~
Haha looking in the comments nobody seems to be bothered by the lines either. in fact most are just distracted by the hanging belly, so hey, probably just you and me. But if everyone is happy no need to feel defeat or deflated in terms of puns XD

Oh god, yes Studio Ghibli are my favorite movies tbh! They are so breathtaking indeed, and I seek to draw like them one day. It's inspiring for each frame looks genuinely beautiful.
Ironically I kinda like the dark stuff, not too dark or melodramatic (which honestly it's common in anime. I like it when dark commentary and such are played subtly in stories and theme) but just right yah know? One for a person to take out of. Though I will admit part of me can't sit in a studio ghibli film without crying XD And it's why I kinda prefer watching it with friends.
Aww, well hey trust me with your skills you'll get there. And you can make yourself a beautiful movie about bellies inflating

Aww thanks for being a great sport about it! I try my best

Oooh~ I love that idea so far. Well if there's something I can help with, I love to help with the story. I know it sounds like you got it cover, but if you want a second person to read through I wouldn't mind. I'm quite into stories even with inflations. And I think even with kink stories, themes and tone can really enhance the experiment! Apart from such I can do Persona style drawings for dialogue box or hub. Stylizing them would be great way to do such.
OOh, I love that worldbuild, maybe I can help with worldbuilding too? I know some ideas to do so!
With that concept, I can think on some really good themes for this story ;D

The trick with CG imitating 2D is the way that the interpolation between key poses is handled, essentially trying to imitate a stop motion kind of movement.Β  This was done to amazing effect in The Lego Movie, since it really looks like it was all done in stop-motion with real lego, but it was all CGI (except for the live-action parts, of course)!Β  It's basically a case of breaking up the linearity of the motion by having different parts and motions stepped at different framerates.

I'm glad you like the concept for the game!Β  I'd be happy to have a bit of help with world-building and/or story writing~Β  The world my characters live in is a sort of Industrial Victorian/Revolution inspired fantasy world where everything is steam powered or otherwise mechanically driven but is set in the "modern era" of their world (with their own versions of things like the internet and smartphones, etc).Β  It's also inhabited with various fantasy races like dwarves, elves, gnomes, etc. as well as featuring some magic (of course, how can you have a curse that makes you inflate if there was no magic xD).Β  The reason I'm not saying it's 'steampunk' is because I really don't like the aesthetics and themes that have become synonymous with the genre.Β  I'd definitely like to talk more about it in notes if you wish!

Oh yeah~ I see what yah mean, so something like less frames = similar motion to 2D, I get yah know~
God I love the Lego movie and it's animation. Let's not forget the amazing Spiderverse film! That animation was total eye candy!! Man, I bet you can do something in the future with more work in your animation! I definitely would love to aim that myself hehe!

Aww that's very kind of you~ I love to learn more about your work. heck to tell yah your world is very intriguing and I love to learn more! I aim similar to a world except it's mostly more wacked with alot of more fantasy elements especially since it's more molten pot of all fictional genres. But back on you, I love your world so far, it sounds like it would be a fantastic world to live in. I mean who wouldn't wanna live in a world where you can inflate your belly XD
I definitely would love to be told more! Hehe Heck if you want writing and world building ideas I'm all in on this! Hit me up~
