Swaying from the booze, Yakumo leaned on the light pole - no luck again tonight.
He searched for the phone in his pocket, pulled it out and looked for a familiar name - one he knew he could count on to satiate the loneliness he was feeling. The tone rang in his ear, sounding too close and far away all at once.
He heard a click as the phone was answered. The sharp tone of the answer from that sweet voice could have cut him.
"C'mon baby, I know you were awake...No, but I'll be home soon. Meet me there."
