Another thing I did. I created the underpainting like 2 years ago (it had just the goldfinches and the cup) but I went back to Albania again this summer. Since goldfinches are such an icon of my hometown in Albania, I decided to paint the rest of the painting with a background from a little restaurant (it sits on the water of this river) that I always go to for breakfast when I'm in Albania.I know the coffee cup sucks ass.. I can't paint inorganic things very well lol. I've done some more work on the cup since I took this pic but otherwise it looks the same.
It's on 18" by 30" canvas with acrylic.

I've been dying to see Albania again! Last time I visited my family was when I was five and that was about eight years ago so I hardly have any memories. My oldest brother went there last summer and sent me pictures of the beautiful castles, mountains and cities!

Oh wow, you should definitely go again. I tend to go every year, and yes, there's really no country as gorgeous as Albania <3 I just got back from my two-month stay yesterday and I'm already longing to go back. It's very important for you to go again just to keep in touch with the motherland and its culture and language and everything. Try to find a way!! You can always go by yourself like your brother (and I) did.
