I can imagine a farmer's wife (Ranger Dan's neighbors) shocked trying to tell her husband:
Marsha: ACK! Norman! There's a raccoon outside!
Norman: It's the outdoors Marsha, there's supposed to be 'coons outside!
Marsha: No I mean right outside! Next to the house! Lurking like a ghost!
Norman: 'Coons don't like houses. They prefer to be outside, so they can get a graze on and raise their young'uns.
Marsha: Norman Hancock the 5th! I am NOT crazy! I am medicated and I am certain I saw some raccoons outside the house!

Yeah, only difference is that Ranger Dan and his kids don't get knocked out like Miles the donkey did to the farmer. Instead, they become friends with the raccoons.

For a moment I thought Ralph was driving a Dodge Challenger like Barry Newman in the movie "Vanishing Point" or a 1972 Ford Gran Torino.
