Hello again!this is puffin studios with a close up of the attack scene that features in the recent STAR TREK CONSTELLATION "ART OF REVENGE"
This scene shows the part where Constellation is attack by her twin yet to be name. i wanted to give the scene a different angle instead of the standard flat view i wanted to show the models what they can do.

It looks good, overall. I'm not sure about the smoke clouds- but then, I have no idea what smoke would look like in vacuum, so that's probably tolerable.

the show are coming off the engines. when the phasers hit them.
plus there is air inside with fire burns.

i like the vibrant contrasting colors in this, the orange lit background really makes the ships stand out. That's something that you don't often see in Trek, with one ship flying at sharp angles in relation to another, or even a ship approaching 'upside down' as space is a 3D environment, it'll probably look weird, but it wouldn't be incorrect from a realistic sense

plus have you notice this all except for the original enterprise all the ships used in the movies are white?
i notice it's the lights that make them stand out but the model itself is just white.

hot wheels!
hot wheels are doing a small range including the dreadnought and the enterprise also checkout your local hot wheels store why because there is a smaller enterprise i have two!

now that you mention it yeah, compared to the original connie class design, esp in the remastered episodes it looks greyish. I also have a 3 foot polar lights model kit of the refit enterprise from the original TOS era movies, and yeah that model is bright white too, i didn't really need to paint it. Might be reflecting real spacecraft. i think its the reason most space vehicles are coloured white because its to do with thermal protection- to reflect heat when exposed to the glare of the sun, and to make them more visible.

ah yeah, the little original connie class that i have is grey. I might photo it, the stand broke, so its on the floor in a corner at the moment and gathering dust. I was kind of hoping to hang it, but its really heavy.

when i brought it i didn't realise it was that big, until i opened the box. i think i brought it from Modelzone for £29.99. well it's just under 3 foot, measured from bow tip to nacelle tip. It would have looked fantastic with lighting in it-it has a lot of clear parts and windows.
it does have a shuttle bay inside and it did come with a few shuttlecraft, but i glued and constructed it with the bay doors closed, so i didn't really decorate the interior.
