Name: Ëdeka
Age: 15
History: Ëdeka knew there were other tribes that had their own culture, tools and Pokemon beyond her own tribe. She never knew, however, that there was a place in the world where pokeballs were abundant, vast buildings were made of brick and men bore armor and weapons made of unfamiliar metal. The traders came from a place far south of her tribe, from Castelia City. They offered many valuable goods for trade and they told stories of the Unova region that fascinated Ëdeka. Much of the world the traders described sounded like good ideas for the tribe; wouldn’t it be so much easier to protect themselves from vicious Pokemon with metal weapons? Wouldn’t it be so much more convenient if everyone had a chance to catch their very own Pokemon, not just depend on the seasons and the Pokemon tribe’s trust? The council, however, wanted little to do with the world the traders introduced; they wanted to trade goods, not cultures. They told Ëdeka that the world of the Unova region had nothing to offer to their tribe, but Ëdeka wanted to find out if that was true for herself. Before the traders left, she asked them to teach her as much of their language as possible. The second time the traders visited, Ëdeka asked for a pokeball. The third time the traders came, Ëdeka asked if she could come with them back to the Unova region.

Without permission, Ëdeka traveled with the traders to Castelia City, a journey that took them all winter. She planed to learn all that she can about the Unova region, the customs, the society, the nature, the Pokemon, then one day return to her tribe with her knowledge. She knew this wouldn’t be an easy journey, but she didn’t imagine she would ever be caught up in anything as big as a civil war…
Post R2: Nearly dying due to having a ghost type possess her has freaked Ëdeka out considerably, hearing all the horrid things her guild members faced during the raid has dampened her morale, and now finding that the closest thing she has to a family in Unova, the traders that she traveled with, are now in hiding due to their association with the Mages Guild has left her in a really bad mood. She started to throw herself into her training to escape her negative feelings, practicing difficult stunts with her bow, trying harsher methods to tame Smile, researching the best method to avoid ghost possession, focusing more on camouflage, etc., but she's still been feeling a bit hollow lately.
Post R4: Having some time to think over things and reuniting and making up with her trader friends has put Ëdeka in a much better mood. She's considering taking on a neutral stance in the war; she's still willing to protect the Ranger's guild, but she's considering not attacking the opposing guilds in the name of the war, even if Ibb orders it.

Personality: Ëdeka is bold and confident in herself, though she does her best not to boast and remain respectful to others (she does secretly enjoy being the center of attention in most cases). She can be hasty, though, jumping to conclusions and taking on more challenges then she can handle. Ëdeka is very curious of the world and people around her, and isn’t afraid to ask others questions. She is a true extrovert and now that she’s all on her own in unfamiliar lands, she is more desperate then ever to make a friend whom she can trust.

Reasons for joining the Ranger Guild: Ëdeka has only arrived to the Unova region a month ago, and she’s still going through a lot of culture shock. She has no intentions of going back to her tribe anytime soon, not until she feels she has learnt enough, but Ëdeka is getting a bit homesick and starting to doubt her plans. To cope with matters, she spends a good amount of time in Unova’s forests. The Rangers Guild sounded perfect to Ëdeka the moment she heard about it; the guild would be camped out in one of Unova’s forests, yet didn’t seem to be completely isolated from the rest of the region. Joining such a guild would ease her shock and allow her to learn about the region one step at a time instead of all at once.

Pokemon

Oji/Tangela: Oji’s Tangela tribe has helped Ëdeka’s tribe gather fruits and other goods from the forest every warm season. In exchange for the Tangela’s help, Ëdeka’s tribe offers them shoes, and Oji became Ëdeka’s partner when she made him his pair. He is very friendly and eager to please, but also naïve and not a very experienced battler.

Ononya/Abomasnow: Ononya’s Snover tribe has helped Ëdeka’s tribe harvest goods during the cold season. Her hearing is very poor, but to compensate she is extra attentive to visual details. Out of all of Ëdeka’s Pokemon Ononya has the most battling experience, but she still has to rely on her trainer to warn her of audio cues. Ononya is very cold and distrustful of others who aren’t Ëdeka or Snovers from her tribe.
Due to being used so often in combat, Ononya is the first of Ëdeka's team to evolve. She still isn't quite used to the height change, but she likes how she can pick up Ëdeka now.

Cloud/Altaria: Cloud is the first Pokemon Ëdeka’s had that she hasn’t known for years beforehand. Ëdeka got Cloud during her journey to Castelia City, in a trade with a passerby traveler. Cloud’s origins are unknown, but Ëdeka received Cloud in poor physical condition. While Cloud is getting better, she’s still rather timid and acts scared around every single person and Pokemon.
Cloud is the second to evolve and has gotten into Ëdeka's favor after she thought Cloud was the one to break her of her possession in R2. Cloud, feeling guilty over her cowardice and not trying to explain that Oji was the real hero, has resolved to become a stronger Pokemon and has spent more time with Oji as of late.

Smile/Surskit: Smile was one of the many Surskit caught by one of Ëdeka's trader friends Drake (app pending). He was originally going to be delivered to the mages guild (and eventually passed onto the thieve's guild), until he was randomly picked out by Ëdeka. When he happened to demonstrate his solar beam on a Noctowl he spotted in the woods, Ëdeka decided to keep the Surskit for herself. Smile lives up to his name, being friendly and playful with the team, but he feels no need to stick around with the team. He's not used to being kept trapped up in a Pokeball, thought, and rarely follows Ëdeka's orders directly. When in a bad mood, he'll outright fight Ëdeka and the team.
POST R4: Even after spending a fair amount of time on the team, Ëdeka still couldn't take Smile out of his pokeball without having him attack. Once Ëdeka realized Smile would never be content under her care, she decided to return him to the wild, where he reunited with his family.

Catherine/Chatot: Catherine was one of the many Chatot messenger birds at the Mages guild, and the main form of communication between Ëdeka, Floris and Drake. She delivered letters, though she is able to 'record' and deliver oral letters if needed. She usually stays with Floris in the Mages Guild or at Drake's room, but as the two had to run off due to the events of R2, she currently resides with Ëdeka. She's a friendly enough bird and very obedient, but not very clever; if it wasn't for folks telling her what to do, she'd be dead in a minute in the wild.

Extra Notes:
-Ëdeka’s tribe is largely based on the Seneca tribe.
-Ëdeka’s tribe, instead of capturing Pokemon, makes deals with them, like making shoes for the Tangela in exchange for the Pokemon’s help in gathering. Certain Pokemon tribes only appear at certain times of the year. For example, the Tangela are only around for spring/summer/early fall before they go south to avoid the cold. Then the Snovers come down from the mountains and help out the tribe during the late fall/winter season.
-Keep in mind little to no people understand what the Pokemon are saying. Ëdeka communicates to Ononya using hand signals, but discussions are limited to simple commands.
-Ëdeka doesn’t have much experience with battling/hunting. She knows some battle skills, but women in her tribe are the gathers while the men are the hunters and warriors.
-I’ve never done an OCT before. I was debating weather I should join or not, but then they announced the caps on applications for popular guilds, I honestly couldn’t see Ëdeka join any other guild, and I figured it was either now or never. I know the caps aren't permanent, but I suspect it's still a good idea to reserve a spot now rather then later.
