Description Alright, here's a revised version of this so everyone can see what it looks like in practice. Use the code at your whim. This code is for subscribers who use CSS on their journals. This will make a rounded box, of the color of your choice around your text or images. Hope you enjoy it.

*EDIT* Finally found the right section to put this in....I can be dense sometimes.

well, the way it works is after you have a premium account, they give you a nice little box and not too much explanation. to be perfectly honest, it's cascading style sheets. what that means is that you can restyle parts of the journal with a style sheet. If you know how to code one, you can view the sourcecode of the site and use a style to change what the site looks like. it's all there if you know how to look at it.

I think I included enough comments to where you can understand it. It's very simple and not the only method. I hope you can use it.

Ahh, brilliant, I was wondering how to do this!! Please may I use this code and show you what I've done with it when I finish?

This is what I did, but I couldn't split it into a main section and a sidebar within the rounded box. Do you have any recommendations as to how I could possibily fix this?

you just have to adjust the css. it's built sorta like a table with overlapping sections.

no problem. i still haven't gotten around to making a new journal css for myself yet. i am debating on wether or not to use this method. if you do use it, please let me know so i can check it out. i'm anxious to see what you come up with.

[link] I used it for a feature box in this guys journal layout that I made. I didn't change much at all, just wrapped it in a container to make it not so wide which probably wasn't the best method but I'm still new to CSS and I'm still learning

You can also see it in action at his site =LonelyPker As you can see I gave you credit at the bottom Thanks again for the code!

it looks awesome. great work. one suggestion though, i've noticed that the newer web2.0 designs have alot of stroking around their elements. that box might look good with a 1px or 2px black stroke which is do-able in the css if i remember the code right.

How do I use this to make my entire journal rounded?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PugnaciousOne In reply to violentcyst [2007-06-23 07:47:17 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's difficult. You would have to create extra div's around your entire journal. In theory you could place a beginning div set in your header, and an ending set in your footer, but that would take awhile to get it right. With DA's code, it might not be possible.

15 downloads out of 42 views, for me that's not bad. Most people don't comment on my work, i'm used to it. lol. I'm just supprised that nobody else has posted anything about rounded corners. They're all the rage on most sites now days.
