Description I guess I'm on this thing right now with women lounging in trees....

At any rate, this is an illustration for the 2006 RAINN ([link] ) calendar.

"You say the word You know I will find you Or if you need some time I don't mindI don't hold on To the tail of your kite I'm not like the other girls that you've known But I believe I'm worth coming home to Kiss away night This girl only sleeps with butterflies...."

Just as I expected. Very beautiful athomsphere, the woman really looks at peace in her sleep.
Makes me want to practice more with watercolors.

Superb. I love the composition very much - I think the circular thing you've got going in the middle is excellent. The detail is impressive also and I really like the vibrancy of the butterflies.

first off, your work is gorgeous. there's not a piece of yours i've seen that i haven't liked. second i have a question: your outlines are superbly rendered. i saw that for your tower piece you used a gel pen to make the lightning bolt so perfect. so is it the same case here, where you use a charcoal pencil or something of the like for the fine lines, or do you just have a good fine watercolor brush to recommend? i do a lot of delicate watercolor work, but i never seem to have the patience to make the rendering as tight as you do, and i would love some advice.

puimun In reply to futurejane [2005-04-22 17:11:14 +0000 UTC]

No gel pens in this one. It's just very fine brushes. I recommend getting a real sable brush for your details as it holds its point much better than synthetics.

ItΒ΄s so lovely. ThereΒ΄s a circle protecting her and caring for her. No harm can happen in it... and I think everyone feel its warmness (does that word exist? ) by looking it...

How long did it take you to create this piece? How much time did you spend on it, (say, an average number of hours per day)? I think I'm going to - well, you know - cry. You're so good at watercolors that I want to steal your artwork; only I can't because that's illegal.

i enjoy much of your work, but i must say this is my favorite. first of all i have a "thing" for spirals, and i love the way you have made that the center of focus...

the woman is beautiful...her hair is like fire...

i was wondering if you use ivy ever in your pictures? i love incorporating ivy in my art, and i'm sure you could do some amazing things with it. if you have already done that, i would be most interested in seeing it.
