Description
I don't have youI don't know if I ever will
You're right there and you don't even know
What I think about you
How I feel about you
Don't leave me now
Don't go away
Please
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
I'm always taking pictures of myself...and it seems like the only ones that I really like are the ones of my lower body...weird...my room is now that brown and a darker orange...I love it

You look so lonely, or, um, your body does. *cough* The colours of the pillow, methinks, help to keep it from being hopeless. Great colouring, and that jacket's spiffy.
Nice poem, I know photography's your passion but you should keep wroking on them because you could do very well with writing.

Composition + Color scheme + Outfit = Awesome.
Now, if only everyone else would bother taking CREATIVE self-portraits like this (well, not exactly like this, because then it wouldn't be so creative).

There's something I really like about this one, something that's really pleasing to the eye. Might be the colours, which look really good together. It does look professional. As a previous commenter also mentioned, it's nice with a picture that is so emotive and "speaks" so much to the viewer without showing the face. So in that way it's quite a refreshing photo.

You express emotion and feeling through your body language instead of your facial expressions. A nice change from normal emotive pictures.

You're such a snappy dresser. :3
I wish I knew how you got your nice lighting... on my camera, everything always turns out too bright. I think I just need to play around with it a bit more.
Ooh, and I just love that chocolate-brown... it goes so well with the orange. :3

I don't usually dress like that but thanks
I don't actually change things on my camera to get the lighting...no flash, and on macro setting.
Thanks! I picked the colors myself...

Is it alright for me to say you're handsome when I've never seen you from the neck up?
Seriously, though, I think the lower-body shots really make the viewer focus more on the person's pose and mannerisms than just their face. Sure, you can convey tons of emotion with facial expression, but to do the same thing with just your lower body is true talent.
The way you're standing, I can tell you're anxious; want so bad to just walk up to that person and say how you feel, but you're still holding yourself back. And I also feel that the cropped-off head shows how maybe that person doesn't even notice you, you're just another body walking by.
Thus ends my photo-analysis!

OOOO - I want your hoodie - I stripes
I love your self-portraits, the speak volumes and who needs the face - people always base so much on faces....(Not that I don't like yours! I just mean artistically speaking, don't we have enough face portraits?)
PS - I forgot to ask on your journal...who's the crush!?!

Thanks alot You've seen my face? ah yes, my old ID that my parents made me take down...
Her names Heather, and shes this girl I met at school. She has the most amazing sence of humour and loves to read! She's really pretty and EXTREMELY nice and polite. But she has no idea how I feel about her I don't know how things will turn out but I can't wait to get to know her better

chasing-butterflies In reply to pulbern [2006-10-06 14:44:21 +0000 UTC]
Is that the secret reason why all your self portraits are headless
Well, as far as Heather goes - I know that it will be hard, but I think you should let her know how special you think she is and you'd like to take her to the movies or for a burger or something like that! Don't be one of those guys who doesn't tell her!
Why you ask? Because basically if you wait too long it turns out one of these ways - she liked you too but you waited so long to tell her that she's now in a relationship with some other guy and there isn't anything she can do about it....or, she likes you too but you've been friends and she feels too weird trying to make something more of it or doesn't want to jeapordize the friendship - which usually means the friendship is going to go sour anyway because things get to weird....or she thinks you are creepy and never even wanted to be friends with you so why would she "like" you? LOL - ok, I know those are extreme - but I am being serious here! I've been there!
There are some guys who I found out years later about their crushes - some were long-time friends, some were just random guys who I never even really knew outside of a class at school. And most of the time, these were guys who I either had a crush on too - or would have considered going on a date with had they asked me. I will admit, there were some guys who did approach me for dates or told me that they liked me who I found completely repulsive and said no. But most of the time, if they weren't completely creepy and they had been nice to me and were nice guys in general I at least went out on some sort of a date with them - even if it was just once and it was with a group of friends.
So - I say GO FOR IT ADAM!!!

pulbern In reply to chasing-butterflies [2006-10-18 22:34:29 +0000 UTC]
yes, thats the reason
I would go for it but I think I have waited too long. Her and this other guy have a 'thing'. I don't know quite what is all happening, but I feel like I like her even more now that I know she's with somebody else. Still, I don't know if dating at this time would be right...my parents need to drive me everywhere because she lives in town (which I live 15 minutes away from) and I'm just wondering if this is a thing that will pass over time. gah...highschool is so confusing XD

Oooh... the colors look nice. The blues and greens contrast the orange and browns well (cool colors vs warm colors) and the jacket kind of ties them together. And there is a kind of mood in the picture... of abandoment... maybe its the pose... idk... you just look dissapointed. lol
Nice job!!!
