that's really quite a cool image, i was going to do something similar for a music video but the director didnt like how graphic i was going to make it so it was dropped

That's too bad - It would have made a spectacular in motion shot, graphic or not.

i'll hunt out the music video and what it ended up at, i only made two fake walls in the end but wished i'd did the hear strings.

you really do have a good eye for things!

pullingcandy In reply to specialneedsmonkey [2010-02-12 18:15:27 +0000 UTC]

I'm working on learning how to have that good eye - I have minimal material to work with here at home, so I am using whatever I find for things like this. I perused your gallery and wow, you're very talented.

I would love to see the video, of course That would be interesting indeed. And there's always time to do heartstrings, you don't need a music video for that

true but sometimes you need that drive and knowing it will be shown somewhere

as for you, i just think you need to continue and question yourself with each thing you do, you'll get better and fast. the quality is better than mine, you just need the gore now

pullingcandy In reply to specialneedsmonkey [2010-02-12 18:21:05 +0000 UTC]

I just found a supply store that wasn't online for materials, so I expect I will get that gore as soon as humanly possible. I have a big setback though, I get frustrated very easily - so who knows when I will actually do something upload worthy.
You seem to have an arsenal of awesome material to work with yourself - that should totally be drive enough

sometimes its just the simple things that can get you going. do you know how to cook blood? that always helps, just getting your hands busy and working on something drives you

pullingcandy In reply to specialneedsmonkey [2010-02-13 16:37:36 +0000 UTC]

I have never heard of blood cooking before. I'm sure you'll have to enlighten me

specialneedsmonkey In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 16:40:41 +0000 UTC]

haha, well it involves, a body, heat of some sort, needles and a pan = a lot of fun but it can be too much fun also..

(i am joking, its just mixing up ingredients and cooking a nice thick blood to use)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pullingcandy In reply to specialneedsmonkey [2010-02-13 16:41:30 +0000 UTC]

I suppose I can see how cooking it would make it thicker. I'm sure the body isn't really needed though, unless we're making stew...?

specialneedsmonkey In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 16:45:00 +0000 UTC]

haha, nah, i was trying to make you intrigued and get that sick mind twitching but guess it didnt work

yup hours fo fun cooking blood. i think nearly all the blood in my photos i made from scratch

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pullingcandy In reply to specialneedsmonkey [2010-02-13 16:46:31 +0000 UTC]

Me suggesting making a stew out of the body and the blood isn't sick to you? *cackles* Which one of us has the sicker mind!

I make my blood from scratch as well, it's far cheaper that way, and you can make just what you need.

Yeah - I can't wait for more epic song titles to base pictures off of. I only had inspiration for two so far, sadly - but they are legendary songs!

mikamii-kun In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-12 21:52:59 +0000 UTC]

I am doing that as a personal project too, basing images off songs, check them out when you have a chance? Though they are nowhere as decent as the ones you see on your gallery and around the website..
I would love to do an image based on Storm The Gates Of Hell.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pullingcandy In reply to mikamii-kun [2010-02-12 23:21:54 +0000 UTC]

Storm the Gates of Hell would be a fantastically epic image. Myself, I have only done My Throat is an Open Grave and My Heartstrings Come Undone, but I have one planned for Coffin Builder. And I lie, I did Our Faces Fall Apart too - I think that a band with descriptive song titles and emotive lyrics are one of the best sources of inspiration. Ever.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mikamii-kun In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-12 23:30:11 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree with you there, and Coffin Builder is another favourite of mine, my favourite part of the lyrics are "I've got a heart of steel, but your words are constantly bringing me down, I open for the last time". Their voices are very powerful and it mixes between heavy and soft, which I like very much.

And they are a Christian band that I feel I can actually enjoy without having religion imposed upon me in some way, which is another pleasant part of Demon Hunter

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mikamii-kun In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 01:13:24 +0000 UTC]

I am also Christian but that doesn't change my taste in music in any way. It is annoying when people squabble over why they are Christian and so. Either way, they are a brilliant band and can't wait to hear more from them!

pullingcandy In reply to mikamii-kun [2010-02-13 01:21:09 +0000 UTC]

Sadly with some religious bands they push and push in their music for the people who are listening to convert to their faith. It's pressure, I don't like that - but with this band, I find that they have found a comfortable medium on which to convey their faith, and their epic music.

mikamii-kun In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 13:04:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that is true, though I can't really name any I know that would do that.
Demon Hunter just make their music and they please, and for that reason I love them.

The watermark?
Simple. I've made a stamp in Photoshop, and I apply it to all of my work in many places, though only one is visible

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

snorcack In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 11:34:11 +0000 UTC]

you mean - watermark in filters? if there, it requests to type a number, but i need my name or address... explain please, where exactly in PS it is made (if it doesn't bother you)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pullingcandy In reply to snorcack [2010-02-13 16:37:17 +0000 UTC]

Okay first, do YOU mean the stamp that says (C)Pullingcandy@deviantart.com(C) across my page? If you do, then I can surely explain from there

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

snorcack In reply to pullingcandy [2010-02-13 17:08:35 +0000 UTC]

yes, yes, please

pullingcandy In reply to snorcack [2010-03-01 19:06:49 +0000 UTC]

In Adobe CS2 is how I make them (since that's what I use).
I go to File > New > Any size, whatever size you'd like.

Then I use the type tool (Looks like a T on the tools options).

I write (C) PullingCandy @ Deviant Art . Com (C), crop it to size, then go to -

Edit > Define Brush Present > Name It > Save

Then to access it, it should be in your brushes Then just stamp it!
