The famous Afghan Girl, Sharbat Gula as photographed by Steve McCurry for National Geographic in the early 1980's.

This is a vector I did sporadically during my free time in one of the graphic art courses I took when I was in high school : ) It was a gift for my dad, who has the original poster of her in his garage. I also have a poster of her, and managed to find the original Nat Geo issue featuring her on ebay. : ) It's just.. one of my favorite photographs of all time. My vector does it no justice!

Program: Adobe Photoshop CS2
Time: About an hour a day for three weeks
Process: Took original 40 something by something image, posterized to medium detail to enhance color replication accuracy. I highly recommend you vector-ers to try this, it really helps get those undefined shades that are hard to vector. **Please note, this is not simply a posterized version done in two seconds in photoshop, this is a vector OF the posterized version.
