silences lacking comfort,
protected by your cinched gaze
I can let my
exterior fall where
it may please
and become part of
your human inferno.

Wandering your
corridor of bones
I listen for the echoes
of imperfection,
yet all that graces
my ears is the
pounding of your
infallible disposition.

Though I try to
hide all that I am
you coax me from my
subterranean shelter
with the ease of one
who barely has to try-
your flame licks along
my jaw line,
a reminder that it's okay
to feel alive.

Let this dream carry me
to all that is foreign
and unbearably
immaculate-
I haven't the will
to wake up.
