for me it looks like a ribs,
or something near in the insect world.
larvae of some kind of insect = embryo.
maybe more or something in the ground/ or more distinct colors/ so that it won't mix with the foreground. ;]
but it's a good idea already...

very cool composed indeed,.. just wonder is the blur done with with dof? or in photoshop,.. coulering is nice, i really like red next to blue very cool contrast,..
and the explosion fits just great
