Description I like the show and these two so far ^_^ I don't think it could be compared to BBC Sherlock since they are so different in so many ways. For one thing - watching elementary is like reading an Au fanfic which is in itself a very interesting thing

I love this! It looks great. I especially like the colors.

I'm a fan of both series, and I agree with what you think. They both have different and unique portrayals of a classic character who's been on TV many times already. Of course, I still love finding crossovers of the two

I like elementary..however..it seems like its own show..Like basically the characters could be their own characters. I think i would prefer it as its own original show, and Sherlock BBC as well, Sherlock BBC. But both shows are awesome! I love how you drew these two <3

I think after all the Sherlock interpretations it's not possible to make something really Sherlock-y and keep he audience attracted - it's been done so many times. We have classy Holmes in so many accurate depictions there is no point to try and repeat it, cap the only thing left is to allow new interpretations. Hopefully, it will attract more people to the books )

I admit when I first heard of Elementary I was a bit skeptical- I was scared that they would basically copy Sherlock Holmes but just put him in America and ruin it...but when I watched it I realised it was nothing like the original bar the names used and I love it ^_^ especially when I can solve things before he does!

I like the show but I'm scared of an eventual pairing. For once, I don't want to see johnlock (or in this case, Joanlock) happen. But your description, an AU fanfic, is completely on target, and what happens in fanfics? eventual pairings. bah.
I just don't see that kind of chemistry between the actors, I suppose.

Pulvis In reply to rmhill10 [2013-02-17 00:46:45 +0000 UTC]

well, as far as i know, the writers claim (or claimed) that they are more interested in building their friendship and showing that friendship between a man and a woman is possible. I'm also a bit worried about the romantic line,i think it would be too predictable, although i do indulge in shipping these two...only sometimes XD

Been watching bits of it, and its better than i thought it would be, but unfortunately no were near the BBC version, i think its the lack of familiar cases and the american setting...maybe its just me. Nice try though.

This turned out lovely! I love the dynamics between Sherlock and Joan and I agree. You can't really compare BBC Sherlock and Elementary because they're both different takes on a wonderful story.

I like your description of the show! It is like an AU fic, but one that's really well written and shows such a great relationship between Sherlock and Watson. This is very lovely art!

Pulvis In reply to bechedor79 [2012-12-24 21:38:49 +0000 UTC]

thank you! ^_^ i agree with you - it really is very well written. The chemistry between actors is just amazing - they are like a single unit, so perfect for each other. I think it's not a simple task to find a Watson for a Sherlock. Every Sherlock movie and series have their own take on Sherlock and Watson but one thing is common - they construct a perfect actors duet.

bechedor79 In reply to Pulvis [2012-12-24 22:00:26 +0000 UTC]

and it's very captivating to see so many ways of this friendship unfolding before us. Although the gender bender idea is not entirely new, the setting, dialogues and even characters looks are interesting to follow! )

bechedor79 In reply to Pulvis [2012-12-27 01:03:26 +0000 UTC]

I think the "gender bender idea" is not new to fandom, but it is new to see it in mainstream media, and I think that's pretty cool.

Just got into this show, and I'm really digging it so far! Haven't seen the BBC show so I can't compare, but as far as a new take on the classics goes I really like what I'm seeing so far. Especially the oddball relationship between these two. I was wary of Lucy playing Watson at first, but those worries evaporated by episode 2.

Anyways, great work here! I love the addition of all the wrinkles in the clothing; it makes the drawing look very loose and the figures very organic.
