"What happened to Grandpa?"
Sarafina looked away from Kiara. Her glistening eyes tried not to meet hers, trying to hold back tears.
"He...was killed." She said, trying to hold strong, although it was almost to much to bear.
"Oh." Kiara looked down at the rock innocently. She almost wished she hadn't brought it up.
"It's alright. don't worry about asking, dear." Sarafina said, trying to forget about it. "You have the right to know."
"Did mom ever know?"
"No... Don't tell her. I think it's something I should do. After the death of your brother, I don't think she's ready to know that she'll never meet her father."
Sarafina paused. Her daughter had grown into a beautiful and strong lioness. But Sarafina felt liked she owed something to Nala, but she could think of what. Kiara looked at her with glimmering eyes, almost like she had forgotten about the seriousness of the matter.
"Don't worry," She said in her giddy voice. "I won't tell mom."

Have you ever done this with a friend? Just laid on the floor and talked? I've done it. It's kinda nice.

Everyone thinks of Nala's father as either Scar or some random rogue. I decided I wanted to do a new take on it.
