Yes he is malamute! ^____^ My favourite too!But it is very unpopular dog breed in my country! ))

But why is an Alaskan Malamute very unpopular in Russia? Because more people have huskies or something?
I think here in the Netherlands are more huskies at least (but there aren't so many sled dogs kept here at all). But I love Malamutes more.

Yeee! )) To many huskies with there popular blue eyes! Oo They are everywhere!!! Oo Husky i think is one of the most popular breed in Russia after labradors/retrievers and different small terriers (Russian and Yorkshire)
But I am happy that malamute are unpopular! Because they are really serious breed and a lot of people can not cope with malamutes, so many puppies between 6 mon.- 1 year are returned back in clubs! ((

Yeah, the blue eyes from huskies are very popular indeed. I think that's the main reason why it's the most kept sled dog!! But.. Malamutes have a more beautiful fur, and more beautiful tails.
Though here you RARELY see sled dogs. 
But maybe it's indeed a good thing that Malamutes are unpopular! Because it's better to have a breed that's not kept by many people, then a very common breed. Don't you think? 
And indeed, I hate it when people take a dog, and then they don't care for it enough. I think you must be sure that you can care enough for a dog, before you take one!
But unfortunately I don't have a dog, so who am I to say that anyway..?

That's very nice; I love your use of GIMP in this image. I use GIMP myself for backgrounds and such, but I primarily use MSPaint

How I did this... Well, i just opened my old drawing, and i made it looking soft with 'spreading' on GIMP. I've coloured the background with airbrushing. And this was the result.
