Uh... practice mixed with boredom and the denied want to play pokemon...There's no particular reason why it's a vulpix. I actually did a bunch of diffrent sketches but liked this one most. I just played around with it really and liked how it ended up.
I didn't look at any refs when i did her. I just kinda did my own version of vulpix. Tell me what you think.

Kyaa! Vulpix! My main favorite Pokemon! You drew her so lovely! (though mine's a boy.) You did a wonderful job without reference. The only problem I see is she's missing two curls upfront, and the locks beneath the curls. But I suppose every Pokemon could use a slight tweaking here and there. If you watched the series at all, Richie had a Pikachu with a tuft on his head. So we'll just say that Vulpix went to a salon and got a slight make-over.

Thank you. Ya. I noticed the problem with he hair afterwords, but i don't hate it like that. Maybe she's going on a date with your vulpix and decided to dress up a little diffrent. XD But glad you like it. One of my favorites too.

My vulpix is slightly different too... He's more of a pale orange compared to the brilliant orangish red of regular Vulpixs.
