A scene I have planned for Mario Kart: Beanbean Circuit in which the new racers are officially announced. Heh, Peasley's all like "okay what the hell how is THIS guy even here didn't he drown after he got knocked outta Bowser's castle a decade ago?" and Mimi's just confused why so many people are freaking out at Fawful's presence. They really should use the Mario RPG characters in more things. I can understand with SMRPG because of the whole SquareEnix spat decades ago, but the Papers and the MnL I don't get why they don't use 'em more. ...Well, aside from the Star Spirits showing up in Mario Party, but that's all that happened and I has a sad.

Yeah... Especially all the Paper Mario partners, because it has been shown that Mario is still in contact with all of them (even the SPM villains after the game ends). Well, they have used the babies from PiT, but I would like to see more characters from other MnL games like Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team. There are many more, but these are just the ones I've played

To be fair, in the case of the babies, they'd been used a lot before (at least babbles Mario and Luigi had, their PiT voice clips were even taken from Double Dash, Peach didn't get used until after PiT). But yeah, the peoples that debuted in the RPGs deserve to be in more games, they're well-rounded characters and I'd love to see 'em just having some non-story-driven fun. X3

Yeah! Maybe they aren't used more often BECUASE of their characterization. Maybe Nintendo thought that they weren't to be wasted on Mario Kart games. They might have thought that if they did, then people would lose their interest for them. They probably want to build up the hype for their return. Then again, only two or three ever reappear. So idk what is going on in the brains of Nintendo workers. It's a shame, because it's usually the best of characters that never come back

Or maybe they just don't feel like figuring out voices for them. Least that's what I read in a jokey post talking about why Dimentio isn't in Mario Kart or Smash Bros. XD (...that's no excuse in the case of Fawf, though, HE already HAS a voice)

...But then why did they bother bringing back the Koopalings in NSMB? It wasn't entirely necessary (though I'm not necessarily complaining, and it was likely a nice touch for the old fans from before my time), and leaving them out woulda saved the trouble of choosing voices for them. Though in that case they have more reason to come back since they were in two of the earlier main-series games.

Doesn't explain why they'd pass up other worthwhile characters for the MK8-specific creation and implementation of Pink Gold P E A C H
...maybe there's some sort of contract with AlphaDream or Intelligent Systems that keeps the RPG characters from being used in main line or multiplayer spinoff titles. God dammit copyright and trademark shenanigans. That's why we're never getting Geno back in anything in a substantial role.

Ehhh, they're probably the only RPG characters that I like who I don't want to see return. They're happy wherever they are, they deserve to be left alone in peace.
