Description
This is a majorly re-touched old piece that I have always liked, but always also hated. The original drawing was a ballpoint pen sketch done on a flight I had to California back in 2002 (or was it 2003? ) and then colored in open canvas. This version has been retouched in Photoshop CS3.Young Sizer, again from the manga "The Violinist of Hameln", sits broken while mourning her actions atop a mound of corpses only just buried by the fresh snowfall.

Now this is quality anime. We get a lot of crap clogging up the Daily Favorites, but I really like this. It shows emotion, it has a reasonable background and surface, and there's some movement in it. The colors also work well together, and it has a lot of depth. Just a fallen angel in the snow. Though the scythe kind of makes the angel look less innocent, and makes you wonder what's going on. In fact, there's nothing bad I can say about this piece. It just goes to show, anime CAN be an art form when you give it artful qualities: depth, color, perspective, contrast.... Otherwise it's just some line art on a TV screen. This piece really differentiates itself from all the other trendy anime "fan art" on here.

WOW...........this is a wonderful drawing...........you can reallie sense the emotion of this peice becuase of the colors you skillfully used and the great emotion you brought out in this characters face......the angle is great also!............BEAUTIFULY DONE!

The scythe and wings are awesome. The little bird on the shoulder is cute, and it seems like its saying, "It's okay. It'll all be okay. I'm here." to the angel.

Well done!! I think this looks beautiful and even if it isn't your best it's WAY better than a lot of people could do (including myself). I really love how you drew the snow... and of course how you drew Sizer. ~.^ And I like it how your lines aren't all entirely clean. The picture has a slight sketchyness about it that looks great.

Grah this is so beautiful ;-; I agree with Sebychu about the blood, it looks awesome. I also like that there isn't a real background... I mean, you don't know exactly where she is. It looks sort of hazy and mysterious.

Wonderful pic, i adore the scenery and put together, lovely and chersihing story too, the soldiers under her as well as her emotion and tears give the idea and view that she doesnt want this, it was wrong, what am i doing, take me away sorta thing. Exellent fast pic, for something you seem to rushed and care so little of, it came out amazing and goregous. Astonishing work!

like it was said, good perspective. but i cannot agree with *patter . it's not overdone, that's just your style. your work is very expresive and good balanced to me, but i have some complaint. snow. it's falling only at the top of pic and dissapered below. besides something's wrong with that scythe. position, size... i'm not sure.

Love the colorish, particularly the detail of the folds on her skirt, and the details in her wings. Background is simple yet effective. Nice one, this, though I don't think it's your best.
