so i'll scrap these WIP pics once I upload a finished pic. I've been nitpicking the clothes like a maniac. I ended up remaking the white shirt because I got sharpie on the first- and also because I decided to go with short sleeves instead. He's a more casual *cough*slobby*cough* guy.kurikara looks like crap right now, I need to wrap the handle and redo the tassles. I carved it out of an old paintbrush.
tiny tie is going to give me nightmares.
finally styled his hair and tail. His pants aren't fitting right just yet because the tail's messing with them. still need to finish up his coat and put buttons on. after that face and finish his boots and he's done (I also made a kuro needle felt to go with him. haha)
Rin is from ao no exorcist
plush is a mixture of an armature style puppet and plush. All patterns (clothing and doll) are my own and not for sale/givsies.
(still no face, i'm sorry. Instead of the son of satan he is the son of slenderman)

This is turning out just amazing. the clothing looks perfect. From here it almost looks like he's live size because of how well they fit p_q so amazing!!! I cannot wait to see him finished! Smug little guy

haha yeah, i'm seeing him with his lopsided toothy grin too. I'm so torn between that and a neutral expression! he's so cute when he's kinda pouty but he's cutest when he's a dork...aughghgg
haha life sized would be s omuch easier to make! the tie is the width of my pinkie nail... it's the right length to tie it, too XD:; I tied it in a half-windsor knot. I was originally just going to make it decoratively as a solid piece but decided I hate myself and went for the actual "I can tie this!" approach.. augh.
I gotta modify the pants because I made his tail too low on the back, it'll have to feed out through a slip instead of over the top...ah well :U ifIcouldstopgettingdistractedbyeverythinghewouldhavebeendonealongtimeago.

it's so hard with dolls because if you go for a neutral expression (or any expression) it kind of limits the poses in a way! If he's grinning he can't exactly be a pouty doll XD oh the challenges!
Omg you actually did a proper tie on it?! that is just amazing! I had a hard time tying my own for my Rin cosplay! I can't even imagine tying on that tiny. He's such a perfect little guy. I can see the love that went into him for sure.
Rin is the best character i've seen in a long time because of his range of facial expressions! I haven't like an anime series this much since I watched slayers years ago.
Have you thought about trying an eye and hook for the top of his pants so you can do it up once they are on (rather than a slip)? (it might be too large but you could possibly fashion one out of wire?)
