so i'll scrap these WIP pics once I upload a finished pic. I've been nitpicking the clothes like a maniac. I ended up remaking the white shirt because I got sharpie on the first- and also because I decided to go with short sleeves instead. He's a more casual *cough*slobby*cough* guy.kurikara looks like crap right now, I need to wrap the handle and redo the tassles. I carved it out of an old paintbrush.
tiny tie is going to give me nightmares.
finally styled his hair and tail. His pants aren't fitting right just yet because the tail's messing with them. still need to finish up his coat and put buttons on. after that face and finish his boots and he's done (I also made a kuro needle felt to go with him. haha)
Rin is from ao no exorcist
plush is a mixture of an armature style puppet and plush. All patterns (clothing and doll) are my own and not for sale/givsies.
(still no face, i'm sorry. Instead of the son of satan he is the son of slenderman)

I attempted to make a Rin doll last year, no where near as good at yours. I still have the tiny kurikara tho, which is also not nearly as good as yours is.
For the hair, is it a wig, or was the hair actually put piece by piece into the head of the doll?

I'm really interested in how you crafted him, as well. I know you said you aren't going to give out the pattern for the doll or put it up for sale, but would you have anywhere to point a curious artist as a good starting place to learn how to create this style of puppet/doll?

haha thanks! I was just going to throw it away (it was one with a huge handle, plenty of space to carve something out of) so I figured why not. only downside is that silver enamel takes FOREVER to dry, it's been 3 days and i'm still waiting on the final coat to finish drying D:
