Winning entry of weekend challenge # 920 on BlenderArtist forum.
Made with Blender, rendered with Cycles, moon texture from Planetpixelemporium (plus procedural for gradient transparent effect), background and lighting with HDRI and sun lamp, other effects and final touch up with GIMP.
