This is just the first frame of a short clip, check it out here vimeo.com/235256854The original concept of the shield comes from Dark Souls.
I wanted the scene to vaguely resemble an italian landscape, the shield(s) is that magical element that you usually cannot see, hidden behind a bigger object.
Putting the scene together has been quite a challenge, since it was my first time using most of the programs involved (like SpeedTree and Substance Designer), but I ended up loving them all for one reason or another and I haven't stopped playing around with them ever since I finished this piece. More nature oriented stuff is coming soon!
