Description Unlike other tutorials, this one doesn't follow a set process but rather demonstrates some easy rules about the shape and proportions of the human body.
1.    A human head isn't round. It isn't flat in the front either. The right-most head is a better shape: heads have a mostly spherical cranium and a lower flatter section for the jaw; the front of the face is shaped not just by the nose but also by the brow-line, the lips, and the chin.
2.    Arms and legs aren't straight; they become narrower as they come closer to the hand/foot (this will be explained better in part 2).
3.    The very edge of the mouth should align with the middle of each eye. This can change with the facial expression though.
4.    The neck should be close to the same thickness as the head; even skinny people almost never have a neck less than half the thickness of the head.
5.    Sometimes what you already know can actually come in handy: an open hand is about the size of your face.
6.    Shoulders aren't straight: they have a more of an angle going down (again, this will be explained in part 2).
7.    The shoulders should have a width of about 3 heads (one on each side). This rule applies  to women too but the shoulder span should be slightly  less than that of men.
8.    The back isn't straight. The spine is an S shape like this. Notice that the shoulders and head are positioned slightly forward.
9.     The distance from the belt to the feet is about the length from the belt to the head. Also, The bottom of a hand at rest goes approximately down to the middle of the thigh.
