Fun fact, most people in (at least) the Johto region refer to people they don't know by they/them until they're sure of their pronouns. Both the trainer and bellsprout ID as female, but since neither has stated it they get the neutral pronouns for now. If that bothers you then too bad, my story my rules. Maybe it'll be different in other regions (and not all characters that show up follow this rule) but that's gonna be the norm for this run.

So yeah, RIP to the Sprout Tower catch. Twas a ratatta that was KO'd in the first battle against some trainer. I'm personally not a fan of nuzlockes where the person catches a pokemon then it immediately dies and the whole team is sent into disarray as if the pokemon was a super important member that everyone had some super bond with. I mean, I feel like I'd be devastated if a pokemon I just caught was immediately killed, but it's not very interesting in a story. Especially when it happens all the time :/

Needless to say, when confronted with this problem in my own run I had a long time trying to decide how to handle it. How Nagrom and the team would handle the death, how the death even occurs, etc. Eventually I settled on Nagrom not even catching the ratatta. I think it better represents how the death felt since I never even got to use her in a battle, and Nagrom never even got to consider the ratatta as a team mate, she only sees them as an unfortunate victim.
