artist's comments... to say that i'm happy with the way this manipulation turned out is an understatement. i'm actually in a state of shock at the moment, heh. xD
the background is composed of three different images (see below), and this is my first time at reflections and such. i found the motion blur filter to be particularly helpful. i added dapples to the horse -- pony, actually ^^ -- and drew a lovely blue eye, which you can see if you fullview.

This is brilliant! If you had used the Liquify tool on the reflection a bit to make it look more rippling, it would be a bit nicer, but this is very great! You blended the mountains, sky, and land perfectly

Um...wow. Just simply wow. This is by far your best piece yet! I absolutely love the soft quality of the horse and the way the mane and tail seem to glow slightly around the outlines. I might suggest making the tail a bit thicker, but that's a matter of taste rather than technique. It's absolutely gorgeous and I am in love with it!
