EDIT: Wow, I can't believe how popular this little thing has gotten!!! Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to favorite and/or comment! I appreciate!!! *throws glitter*Ok, I jumped on the bandwagon and made a stamp!
Have you ever been writing or drawing, minding your own business, when all of a sudden your character(s) are in a place you don't remember going? You look back through your notes/writing/sketches/drawings and realize that your character(s) have been taking you for a ride... and you realize that what your character(s) came up with was more awesome than what you would have come up with on your own.

The Bard character I made for a book suddenly started doing something he was not supposed to do but a different character and it was amazing. That cat bard is crazyΒ

I figured it out when I was developing my character Gray. I didn't really expect quite a lot of things in her backstory that somehow got there. That was the first time. The second time was with my antagonist Jonah who started to become good without me realizing it.Β

I figured that out the hard way. I was writing my ending for my story, Blackbirds when I learned Scarecrow, the antagonist of all characters, wasn't mentally well. I'm thinking, what the heck!? I didn't do this! I wasn't even PLANNING on adding mental illness to the plot or my characters!
So, I did my research to find out Scarecrow has Personality Disorder-Trait Specified (the not otherwise specified of the Personality Disorders.)
Lucky me. Oh well. Time to figure out everything.
THEN, Vulture had to do it to me AGAIN! You see, his work as a grave digger has sort-of gotten to him. He has this irrational guilt for every body he's buried. One day, I'm thinking about it, and I realized, wait. This isn't healthy...
Now, I'm lying on my bed thinking, why me?

I kinda gave mine minds of their own on purpose, so this happens to me a lot, but I can never seem to write it down.

Most of my characters even have disabilities/ sad backstories. Like autism, for instance. I have autism and and I'm writing from experience. It's what authors do.

Oh yeah. Especially as I like to "cast" real life actors and actresses for my characters and more often than not, it REALLY helps me figure out what direction I want to take them.
Of course sometimes they just go off and I'm dragged along for the ride before I blink.

To the point when we ended up calling them Tom(red) and Jeffie(Purple) it just happened. And now that how we know them has. And few of my friends too who love our fan cannon haa

This stamp is my life as a writer. I get started on a character idea and a storyline to go with it and my OC's just take off, dragging me along behind them as they write half my story without my permission and take it in a path I never planned.Β
I so need this stamp on my page.Β

I think our job as creators is to tell our characters the proposed ending point and then set them loose.

Pff, so true! Fuyumi (the blondie that is currently my icon) once declared that I was the "cameraperson". I've given up trying to coerce them to what I wanted them to do... Given that the way it ended up going (with her meeting one of my other OCs Maeda and then becoming friends with Maeda), I'm just not complaining anymore. It's more fun this way!

So-much-yes. My main character, Denece, has changed so radically and I don't even know how or why...O.o I swear whenever I create a new world a parallel dimension is created and my characters actually become real and I'm just watching what happens next. I have a vivid imagination.Β

I recently (recently being a relative term, life is being a butt right now) posted this piece featuring my OC's:
Shadow HuntersShadow Hunters
A bolt of light shot up from the ground, disturbing a family of birds nesting in a nearby tree. The light widened into a portal that could easily let a seven foot man through. After a brief moment, a short girl stepped through the light into the forest. Her long, dark brown hair was tied up in a high tail and an easy smile graced her face.
βLetβs see what we got this time!β
Her smile fell away as she took in the trees and foliage. βWait, this isnβt where Iβm supposed to be!β
Fishing a sleek device out of the pocket of her turquoise jacket, she frowned. βAw, flops, did I get the coordinates wrong again?β
Several miles away, a small town sat nestled next to the forest. The adults milling about seemed to be ignoring the group of boys following and teasing a small girl. The boys were laughing and kept bopping the knit winter hat she wore, even though the day was warm.
βHey Lulu, why donβt you take your
I also wrote, drew and completed a webcomic featuring yet more OC's, called The Quest to Find Blueentity!! www.ardentflame.com/QFB/QFB001β¦
