Hurrah, got my submission for *Plushie-chan 's and *Phoenix-Pinion 's contest!

The goal was to draw new characters for them that would reflect their personalities or would be the sorts of characters that they'd draw for themselves.... in some sort of pair.
I think I fell quite a long way short of that goal...

Since Phoenix usually draws kinda broodyish and sometimes gothy looking characters (IMO, anyhow!) I made her dragon sort of darker. But I think the lighter green works for her somehow, as well as to lighten it a bit. Also conjures up images of her journal, all neon green and black.
She seems to like to draw piercings and such, so I tried to oblige without being overly gratuitous... I kinda like them. Esp the tail spike chain!

Plushie I drew as a lighter dragon, since hers are usually more bright and straightforward. Unfortunately I'm not as familiar with her characters, but some of them seem a bit crazy (in a good way of course!), so I hope her dragon came off as such! I didn't deck out Plushie's character as much, as most of her characters are unadorned.

The pair is a mating pair of dragons. At least I intended them to be, though I guess it could be up to the viewer to decide.
I'm constantly making up random species of dragons, and this is one of them. There's no real names for them, either species-wise, or character-wise. Dunno if I will. I guess individual names will be up to Phoenix and Plushie, if they decide to adopt either or both of the characters. Generally I draw female dragons larger and with pouches for egg bearing/caring, but I didn't bother to do that with these two (kinda just how it worked out.)
Plushie is the male, Phoenix is the female. No particular reasoning behind that, actually, also just how it worked out. The colors also have nothing to do with gender. Wings are pretty much the same, but the male has forward pointing horns and a thick boney plate for fighting for mates. Rather, as you can see, like a triceratops. The tail is also equipped with a double set of spikes turned upward for grabbing and spiking competition. Similar to the way a scorpion stabs at its enemies or prey with its tail, over its head, though these are just spikes, and not poisoned.
The female has more "traditional" (for me anyway) head spikes and horns, and a single row of spikes. Not as effective in fighting, but effective enough!

You can't tell from the size of the picture, but Phoenix's dragon has two different colored eyes, orangey yellow and gray-blue. Plushie's has neat two-toned yellow-red eyes.
They both sport a matching tooth pendant.

Er anyway, I really don't think it came out very good, personality-wise (sorry guys! ) but it was nice to draw dragons again, and I definitely think the pic turned out worthwhile on some level, even if not in a contest-worthy way!

(P.S. I'm probably going to have major problems posting this, as it's a very sketchy transparent background and I'm going to attempt a thumbnail since the pic itself is so huge. So bear with me if I seem to be posting edits a lot!)
