Description
I woke up to find myself sprawled face-down and falling halfway off of the couch in the living room. My stomach was roiling, and the sunlight shining in through the windows made my eyes and brain feel like they were bleeding. I made to turn over, but the room began to spin, so I laid back down where I was. Better just stay like this for now, I thought, and then began to recount the events of the past week. Sunday had been a typical lazy Sunday. I had spent it with my girlfriend. Things had seemed normal. On Monday at work I was informed that my boss was considering making some cuts. Tuesday I didn't do much of anything. Wednesday my girlfriend texted me (yes, texted me) and told me she thought we should see other people. Thursday I sat around in my boxers watching football. I didn't shower, fell asleep, and forgot to go to work. Friday I went to work and was told I was being let go. I went home and drank until I passed out. Then on Saturday I called my buddies and told them I needed to get out, so they brought me to a party they knew about. The next thing I know, I'm waking up on the couch with the worst hangover I've ever had in my life. I don't remember the party. Later, my buddies told me I screwed a pretty fine chick and won eight consecutive games of beer pong. Damn, I wish I could remember.
