Blizzardless AU

Welcome to Blizzardless!! This is an AU where the massive pivot point is that the Windig*s never happened- Meaning Hearth’s Warming, and the unification of the three races didn’t happen either. The races all have very large territories, with most of the capitals being in the fertile land of Equestria, as we see in the show. The unicorns are a monarchy, the pegasi are a military state, and the earth ponies are a democracy, all crammed onto more or less the same territory. Now don’t think they’re as hateful of each other as they were back in the day, no, the three races are allied for better and for worse. These alliances are military and commercial mainly, and have kept Equestria rather peaceful on the pony side of things.
So since this is an image of the Mane 6, what are they all up to? Let’s go in order.

Twilight Sparkle, hailing from a noble unicorn family of scholars, is Queen Fleur De Lis’ advisor! She essentially does a bunch of paperwork, manages the Queen’s meetings and receives ponies… Well, she acts more or less like a secretary, but also gives advice to Fleur on her decisions. They’re quite close, well, mainly on Fleur’s side, who’s persuaded her and Twilight are good friends. To tell you the truth, Twilight is a bit uncomfortable with the Queen, feeling like she has to be perfect. And it doesn’t help that the advisor has quite a secret to keep: she’s dating a pegasus sergeant! Oh, the drama! But how could she not love the brave and wild Rainbow Dash?

Rarity Belle was not exactly that much of a noble, yes her family were rich enough but they weren’t exactly socialites or scholars, her mother was quite an esteemed mare from a good family, but her father is just a tailor. But Rarity, with her mother’s good looks and the aid of her more distant family, manage to social climb to the highest point she could, dragging her sister Sweetie Belle along to become the most high-ranking a mare possibly could without royal blood… And while attending a very fancy dinner party, Rarity met the Queen’s firstborn son, the well-known and beloved Avant-Garde. He was pretty much perfect: he was lanky and elegant, had great fashion, a strong and determined personality, and he was perfectly trimmed. Seeing him with her own two eyes, Rarity was smitten and quite quickly started courting him. Since he was the firstborn, his mother would more or less let him choose who he married, as long as it was a mare, and a mare of good standing.
You can guess who he married- Rarity herself. So now she lives a perfect posh, princely life just like she’d always wanted, as a young noblemare bride.

Pinkie Pie’s life is actually not that eventful, compared to Twilight’s secret affair and tight schedule, and Rarity’s noble lifestyle. Pinkie, the fluffy pint-sized party pony, went from being a traveling party pony to being recommended and elected for Minister of Outer Relations in the earth pony country. Of course she accepted! She moved to the Earth Workforce’s capital with her husband Cheese Pie (Cheese Sandwich- husbands take a part of their wives’ name, in earth pony tradition) and they now have two beautiful young children, Lemon Meringue Pie and Confetti Cake Pie.

Applejack is most likely the saddest of the Mane 6. She honestly thought that, becoming her country’s chancellor, she could make a change. But as it turns out, she was quite wrong. Earth ponies are usually very traditional and are quite homophobic, with gay relationships being leniently outlawed. However, a single horse’s word can’t really change opinions, as Applejack found out. So now she’s just waiting for her mandate to run out so she can go back to being a regular farming horse. To keep up appearances, Applejack married Party Favor, now Apple Favor, a gay stallion she met on a delivery a while back. They’re both quite a bit too nervous to start dating other ponies- mainly Applejack- since they’ll most likely be in the public eye for a while.

Rainbow Dash is in the pegasus military! As are many other pegasi, as that’s the nation-wide “ideal”. Rainbow is extremely accomplished and doesn’t let anything stop her from being the best. She worked very hard to become a sergeant, and hopes to one day be the commander. How cool would that be? Rainbow Dash is still as passionate with flying and acrobatics, but with an added side of ass-kicking. Still, there’s one thing that makes Rainbow sad. And that’s her marefriend Twilight, the unicorn advisor she’s fallen hopelessly in love with -she won’t say it! she’s not mushy like her folks!-, and who she’d love to marry and settle down with in a lovely little nice land province of the Pegasus State… But well, Twilight has too many responsibilities, and “What if the Queen put a hit on me?” and all that. Rainbow’s also her childhood best friend Fluttershy’s rock, of course.

Fluttershy is a zoologist, has just gotten out of veterinary school, and the girl is still as socially anxious as ever. Nobody and nothing really taught her to stand up for herself and be more confident and outgoing, mainly because Rainbow had been all she needed for most of her life. Rainbow stood up for her, was confident and outgoing for her, and was her best friend since they’d met in Cloudsdale’s Flight School for Foals. Well, she also has Zephyr of course. But he’s a bit obnoxious and clingy, he makes her kind of nervous, so she mostly stays by her dear, dear Rainbow. Recently, the mare has been trying to get Fluttershy in the dating scene, nudging her to meet some of the pretty army girls at the post-parade parties. Flutters is flustered. She has the most normal life out of the six, honestly, despite her raging social anxiety.

OKAY that was a lot lol, sorry for the text wall! I'm finally pushing this out into the world, an AU I've had in mind for a while now. I did this drawing quite a bit ago. SOOO many sapphics. Anyways, you'll get to hear more about the Mane 6 as I hopefully make more drawings about all of them, but here's their racial info for now:

Twilight is pure unicorn, she's just chubby and a bit short lol. She might have the slightest tinge of pegasus blood but that's about it.
Rarity is like, the purest unicorn you could ever think of, she's considered breathtakingly beautiful by unicorn standards, like DAMN look at how long every part of her body is!
Pinkie is quite the ordeal, she's like, half batpony, 1/8 donkey, 3/8 earth pony. She gets the cross marking from her 1/4 donkey 'ma, and gets the shortness, big ears and fangs (not shown here) from her batpony parent.
Applejack is once again a very pure earth pony, she's very rugged and fluffy, has a thick, strong nose and ridiculously small ears. In fact, some would argue she's more earth pony than the typical pure earth pony. She's just THAT buff. Again, very attractive by earth pony conventions.
Rainbow Dash is quarter earth pony, but she really doesn't get anything but the faint marking on her nose from her earth pony blood. She looks pretty much 100% like a pure pegasus.
Fluttershy has unicorn blood and it shows. She's got feathery fetlocks with cloven hooves, is tall and lanky, and her wings are a bit small compared to her body as a result. Don't worry though, she's got the magic to lift her off the ground. She's still afraid of heights but, ey.
