I’m coming up with a new AU, where in this world Celestia died when defeating King Sombra and Luna became the princess. Luna couldn’t harness the power to raise the sun so the world in always night.

Fluttershy is a thestral in this and she is captain of the Lunar Guard. She has more confidence and is more assertive but is still is very nervous around other ponies. Her cutie mark is a little different than regular fluttershy, she got hers when she was learning how to use a sword with her dad. She was helping protect animals that were getting bullied by other ponies and may or may not have threatened them. It still has the three butterflies but also has a sword in the middle.

Thestrals are uncommon here but ponies have interacted with them before. Thestrals usually eat on cow meat since they drink blood, unlike most Fluttershy prefers the taste of apples.

Every member of the lunar guard is on a half year cycle so they get a break every half a year. When Fluttershy is on break she works at a local vet helping any animal that other ponies bring in, be it hurt critters they find on the streets or household pets. The rest of her friends came from Ponyville and now work different jobs in the castle. I’ll explain more when I get to them.
