Here's my entry for this year's AVA, Artists Vs. Artists, held by =CrispyCh0colate !

Some of my reallllyyyy old watchers might remember that I entered last year! I had a blast, so I wanted to enter again this year too <3

the theme this week was working with a song to try and pull a drawing out of that, the song I was assigned is:
Danger - Keep away by Slipknot [link]

And now, onto explaining the drawing! <3

Honestly, I think this is probably the best picture I've ever drawn in my life.

I picked my character Ghamis, Because he is the Prince of Dreams. The scene behind him is supposed to be a gateway into his powers that exist inside of the dream world, his twin sister Imera, (Who is not actually present in this picture) is known as the Princess of Nightmares.
Imera looks exactly the same as Ghamis, only her colors are inverted from his.
Ghamis and Imera have a horrible, yet breathtaking relationship. Imera's powers drove her slightly mad and she's twisted herself into thinking that to end the constant nightmares, is to kill herself and her brother.

The twin's powers are not supposed to mix, but often when you're dreaming you'll find yourself starting off in something wonderful but it quickly turns into something dreadful. you can see in his dreamworld behind him that some of the pieces fit together in the picture have a slightly unpleasant appearance as Imera is trying to access Ghamis's mind and take control of him with her own powers, meanwhile trying to kill him in the real world.

Ghamis himself is torn between letting his sister attempt to 'save' them from the curse, or save her from killing them both and causing a rift in space and time, and sending a new unfortunate soul into the same misery, because a new prince and princess of dreams must be appointed if anything were to happen to the current.

Not to mention, Ghamis was supposed to be the prince of nightmares, but an unfortunate event happened and he had to forfeit the role to his sister, and he thinks he's the reason behind all of her madness.

But yeah! I just think you should listen to the song and stare at my picture <3 I put so many details into this it looks friggen epic |D

I tried to capture the real emotion of the song in the piece, really taking the song at its literal meaning and focusing the most on the line "That place in my mind" referring to Ghamis's own powers over the dream world, which in fact does exist in his own mind.
