Recently found this anime called 8 Man, and I found me a new Cyborg to drool over
Before Robocop, there was 8 Man! Japan's earliest Cyborg hero, and believed to be the inspiration for Robocop!
This is based on the OVA, 8 Man after. Hazama Itsuru was fatally injured and was turned into a crime fighting cyborg!

Same here. He was pretty hardcore in 8-Man After. In fact, Hazama Itsuru was far more brutal than his predecessor Hachiro Azuma.

Hachiro was the original 8-Man from the 60s series. He was also seen briefly at the beginning of 8-Man After in a flashback that Sachiko had. I agree; Hazama is kind of like Dirty Harry and Golgo 13 put together. He doesn't mess around. One of the reasons why he's on my top list of greatest anime badasses along with Kenshiro, Golgo 13, MD Geist, and Spike Spegiel.

Agreed. A new OVA would be nice. Maybe they could have an episode where Hachiro and Hazama could meet in person. I can imagine Hazama would belittle his predecessor because Hachiro was more of a pacifist than Hazama was. He wouldn't harm his enemies unless it absolutely necessary. With criminals and wrong doers, he would usually just bust them and send them to prison. But not Hazama.
Oh, and yes; Guyver is one of them two. And so is Vampire Hunter D, and Jubei Kibagami from Ninja Scroll.

I can imagine them arguing with each other on who should be Sachiko's man.
Hachiro: I'll kindly take back Sachiko if you don't mind.
Hazama: In your dreams, pal. Last I heard, you dumped Sachiko. And she hasn't heard from you in years since. Some boyfriend you turned out to be.
Hachiro: Well at least I have more courtesy than you do. And I have the ability to restrain myself unlike you who always resorts to violent behavior. How on Earth did Sachiko end up with an uncivilized ill-tempered brute like you?
Hazama: Well hey, at least I know how to stand up for myself! You're too soft! No wonder you had to deal with the same villains over and over again! Anybody who messes with me ends up in the hospital or dead! Doesn't matter to me.
Hachiro: Well, I've known Sachiko for a much longer time than you have. My show has been around since the 1960s. And I know she still remembers me after all these years.
Hazama: Don't make me laugh. By this time, people have forgotten about the 60s. Besides, black and white TV is so out of style now. And also, Sachiko is my girl now. Do you even have an explanation for why you've been away for so long?
Hachiro: I...
Hazama: ... Well?
Hachiro: Oh it doesn't matter! The thing is you stole my girl, and I want her back!
Hazama: Not going to happen, pal. I told you she's mine now.

Really awesome. I know who this guy. And although highly underrated and obscure, 8-Man is one of my favorite anime superheroes of all time.

I only recently discovered him, and I have to admit he is awesome. I never realized that this guy was the reason we have Robocop

As for me, I've known 8-Man since the 90s. I know he's been around for a much longer time than that. But ever since I saw the original 60s show and the 1993 OVA, I grew an immediate fondness for him. Rumor has it that 8-Man might have also been the inspirations for Casshern and possibly Megaman to some degree.

Yes. I believe so. Cuz the original manga and TV series came out around like 1963 if I'm not mistaken.
