I always did feel like Steven Universe was similar to Transformers.
Particularly how recent TF canon had the Autobots following the same Caste System as the Gems,
with Megatron (ironically) spearheading his resistance with the same ideas of equality as Rose Quartz.
..Only to become the very evil he sought to destroy, and for Optimus to redeem the Autobots.
(Just imagine a Steven Universe AU where Rose Quartz won the Gem Wars, only to become a tyrant.
Β And, Garnet leads a new resistance of Homeworld Gems against the now evil Crystal Gem Empire.)
