you could use a transparency gradient from bottom to top on sackboy .. and shadows / reflections on his body to give him a 3d-look

Then please tell me what I can improve. Of course there are many other better artists out there, but there's no reason giving up just because of that. Being able to do arts at all is something that brings me a lot of joy - a joy I like to spread when showing the art. Below, in the other comments, you can see that joy spreading.

On that note...
I would consider angling sackboy's reflection away like yours rather than straight down and perhaps adding a suggestion of shadow.
