I got around to "redesigning" These two. My StarBurst kids Meridian Sunstorm and Stardew Valley.

On the left we have Meridian Sunstorm. He is a professional luminary. Lumination or luminology is a medical profession originating in Canterlot about 600 years after Luna's banishment. Not immediately felt, Luna's soft comforts in dreams was gradually missed. Even if most ponies couldn't remember a royal visit, at large they noticed an uncomfortable recurrence of nightmares with a steady rise in severity. Ponies started to study dreams to understand them and prevent the more heinous nightmares, thus luminaries were created. A luminary can enter the minds of others in an attempt to discover the source of a mental disorder, illness, or other problem. It is a technique modeled after Luna's dream walking though not quite as powerful.

Meridian has an incredibly strong control of magic but is also scientifically oriented. He is currently working on what could be considered the first artificial intelligence in Equestria.

On the right we have Stardew Valley. She is a writer of young adult fiction. If you've read something like Redwall or The Lord of the Rings, her style lands somewhere in that range. She is also a designer of board games and custom made statuettes. Stardew is a bit of a chronic day dreamer and hopeless romantic. Stardew also has a talent for drawing to compliment her writing skills, though her magical prowess is noticably weaker than her brother's.

Quick note: I've adopted the head canon that Sunset Shimmer is Sunburst's older sister.
