Where the hell was he?!
Kami, she needed to find him. It was her fault he'd been brought into this mess, and she would fix it. Or try to, anyway. Either way, she needed his help.
"Yuugi!"
Anzu let out a relieved breath as she noticed the object of her thoughts walking past the game shop. He turned around in surprise.
"Anzu?!"
"Please, you have to help me!" She begged. "Look, me and Miho got attacked by some jerks, and then Miho just had to say that I was the King of Games' girlfriend! Now they think we're dating, the rumor's somehow got everywhere, and I'm scared of what they'll do to us if they find out it's a lie! Fuck!" Anzu was panicking, now. Yuugi placed his hands on her shoulders in an attempt to calm her down.
"Anzu," he said seriously, looking her in the eye with a raised eyebrow. "Are you asking me out?" Anzu spluttered at his words.
"N-no! ...Unless you want to..." she took extra care to ensure that she didn't sound like she was forcing him into it. After all, she'd rather have his friendship than force him to pretend to enjoy a relationship.
"Sorry, Anzu. I'm seeing someone already... He winked. "Can you keep a secret?"
Now, this was interesting. Anzu's interest was immediately gained. Just who was his mystery girlfriend? "Of course!" She giggled, worries temporarily forgotten. "Cross my heart. So, who's the lucky lady?" To her surprise, he blushed slightly.
"Umm... There isn't one."
"...Huh? But you just said-"
"It isn't a girl..." He scanned her eyes for a reaction. She was taken aback slightly, but she wasn't disgusted by him. He breathed out a sigh of relief, and she smiled. "I knew I made the right choice of who to tell," he giggled, "You're the best!"
"Hey, I've always wanted a gay best friend," she joked, before giving him an impatient look. "Tell me the guy, dammit!" She practically whined. What he was about to say shocked her to no end.
"...It's... Mou Hitori No Boku..."
...Well, that was the least that she expected.
"...Atem?!" So he returned because he fell in love? They suited, when she thought about it. She almost giggled when her thoughts trailed off-course.
'Damn, I have to cut down on the yaoi fanfiction... Hmm, or maybe not. That new fanfiction site is pretty damn good...'
She brought herself back to earth with a small gasp as she remembered her situation. "Oh, shit, I forgot! Yuugi, will you be my pretend boyfriend? Just in front of prying eyes? I'm not asking for dates, affection, nothing like that. Just that if anyone asks, you're dating Anzu Mazaki?" The pleading look in her eyes, mixed with his not-quite-yet vanished affection for the girl made up his mind. He nodded.
"...Okay. I'll help you! But make sure Mou Hitori No Boku knows that me and you are not together. Kami knows what he'd do..." She noded earnestly and began to walk away.
"Thanks, Yuugi! And congrats to you two!" She ran off with a smirk as she heard her best friend splutter behind her.

Omg, I'm SO glad this isn't Anzu bashing, because I don't always like that. Although I'll read it, it makes me feel sad that someone doesn't like Anzu. I mean, do people hate her because she gets in the way of Puzzleshipping or something? She doesn't seem like a bitch or anything in the manga or anime to me. :T

I feel exactly the same. I used to read a lot of Anzu bashing, she's done things that really irked me in canon, but... Hating her seems daft to me. Everyone makes mistakes, but if there's something that's just unbearable about her... Shouldn't people just slightly change her in fanfiction to seem a little cooler? Most bashers make her hate Yuugi and be a total slut. But... She didn't pick the school dress code, and the stuff she wears outside of school isn't that bad. And nobody targets Mai and accuses her of being a slut, do that?! And Mai's clothing is a lot more revealing! Besides, she admits to liking both Yuugi and Yami. Which is why I like to write her as a yaoi fangirl; it makes her much more likely to be puzzleshipper, and I love puzzleshipper!Anzu. Afetr all, she's attracted to both; naturally the thought of them being a relationship would appeal to her, even if she doesn't realize it. Sometimes, on the rare occasion I read it, but only if it's of good quality.
Aah... Sorry for rambling, it's just one of those topics I've started to become rather passionate about :/
Oh, and if you want to read any more Pro!Anzu, I recently wrote a new year's oneshot (It' Puzzleshipping) that has her as a good guy.. Sorta. She comes across as a bit of a pervy fangirl, but in a good way ^^ It's here if you haven't read it already and want to XD - Β Puzzleshipping - Bad Timing

Anzu seems cool to me, I really think that she would support Yugi and Yami's relationship. She never struck meΒ as the jealous type(execpt that one time Mai was flirting with Yugi during Duelist Kingdom).Β
Oh! I read it and I really liked it! Anzu caught both of them in a "make out session'. XD

I admit, sometimes when I read the manga/watch the anime, I get these random and unprovoked Anzu-bashing thoughts running through my head... For example, when I was reading the part where Yami leaves and Anzu started begging him not to go, my mind was yelling 'SHUT THE HELL UP YOU ANNOYING BITCH! IF YUUGI CAN ACCEPT IT, SO CAN YOU!!!!! STOP TRYING TO STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT AND TURN THIS DAMN THING INTO A REVOLUTIONSHIPPING ROMANCE, IT AIN'T HAPPENING!' or when I watch Season 0 at the part where Shadi makes her stand on that plank, my mind is chanting 'DIE BITCH DIE!!!!' I hate it when that happens; I don't hate her at all... It just... Happens. 
And I definitely think she wouldn't hate on them for dating, if they did. She values her friends too much, regardless of their life choices. She's stuck by them through thick and thin, and they've all been through quite a lot of obstacles. She wouldn't throw more in front of them, she's nicer than that. Even if she was jealous, she'd conceal it and try to be happy for them, dont'cha think? Besides, she's the one who tries to tell others just how strong the bond of friendship is! (Although I don't think she really makes loads of 'friendship speeches'. It makes me laugh actually at the irony; the character who really makes friendship speeches is Yami. Reread the manga, it's true! That fact always makes me giggle.)

Whoa, good on ya! XD Good luck with it, then! I actually think that watching Yu-Gi-Oh subbed is helping me learn Japanese. Duel Monsters is subbed so terribly that after a while you just start to use guesswork and figure out what they're really saying... Right? XD
