Description
In the last days I've been drawing a lot of lizardmenand it came to my mind that I could paint something
with a giant basilisk in a somewhat exotic environment.

Woah cool beast with its shading and size. Not sure what the soldier is doing standing there but the earthy background's pretty nice.

Funny question, who is the guardian, the giant lizard or the guy π

Finally someone who's asking the right question!
I envisioned the whole piece around that doubt: the aim was exactly to enhance interest by making the viewer wonder if the guardian is the soldier or the basilisk.
Although I would personally choose the basilisk as the guardian, there is no actual answer to your question. You may yourself choose who's who.
Thank you very much for your comment!

There is no way he would stand a chance against the monster lizard, unless given some kind ofΒ protection artifact from a wizard.
