Damn, I finished this page today, and it's 0200 hours. I'm freakin' tired, and mentally exhausted due to this series of comic pages I somehow feel the urge to put out. I swear though, for me, this level of artistic output is quite unprecedented. The last time I was creating comic pages on this scale was back when I was in Fourth Grade, almost ten years ago!
Anyway, here's the second part to the "Responding to Call" page I drew a few days earlier. Those who may have been worried that our favorite Police Bunny was about to get atomized can now breathe a sigh of relief.
Now when the sun comes up, I suppose I need to get working on Part III... crap, yo.

Huh, I guess the ZPD doesn't train their officers to shoot in three-round bursts. Otherwise, Nick would've fired off another… uhh, "firearm dart," is it? I mean, the first two to the chest is probably enough to put someone down. But, isn't that last one to the head meant to ensure that they stay down? Or, is it because he's using tranq darts, instead of live ammo?

That ammunition is the latest in non lethal weapon technology, I tried explaining it in the description of Standard Issue:

I see. I have 2 more questions: 1) Do officers carry live ammo for certain situations? 2) Are the "three-round bursts" and "two in the chest, one in the head" tactics I mentioned earlier part of the ZPD rules of engagement?

That's a no on live ammo, as lethal weaponry is strictly prohibited for everyone in this comic.
And I don't know about the ROE, Nick was just shooting to save Judy.

Huh, cool stuff! Although I've always preferred having the Zootopia characters being drawn with real-life weaponry. Still, love your comics! Hate to see Judy making Nick worry like that.

Honestly I thought that Nick would be the loose cannon, with his sly nature always getting him in trouble and Chief Bogo yelling at him for it. But I guess Judy's dedication to the job would be dangerous as well!

Woops, I forgot to erase those. The first thing I do with these comics is layout all the panels, and then I write those little things in as sort of a rough draft before I start drawing.

Lol it took me a couple looks to realize Nick had a dart gun. At first I thought r just totally drilled the guy and was like... Dayum. I like the comic. The sketch work is awesome.

Good thing those darts act as quickly as they did... Or maybe the guy decided he wasn't going to get away after being shot and decided murdering a cop was a bad idea. Probably the first good idea he's had!

The idea I have is that there must be a lot of technology developed into those darts, or "barbs" as I called them in the colored picture I drew of Nick. Instead of using just regular anesthesia, perhaps the barbs use some kind of nanotech serum which is programmed to target the brain of the affected subject. I guess the people of Zootopia would say that this technological breakthrough has the ability to induce the fastest REM sleep conditions in the world!
